Mistico Update

TNA Wrestling - House Show: Abbotsford, BC, Canada

TNA Wrestling - House Show: Abbotsford, BC, Canada
by: Martin Hoh

The crowd was loud throughout the night. Jeremy Borash was introduced and he did a tremendous job hyping the crowd, getting the fans loud and hyping the free backstage passes that would be given to 5 or so super-TNA-fans.

Match 1: Suicide (c) vs Daniels for the X-Division Title

Suicide came out from the the crowd to his TNA theme while Daniels came out to the actual Marilyn Manson song "Disposable Teens". The match had (I believe) a 20 minute time limit and they reached the time limit. Jeremy Borash announced that it was a draw and stated that AJ Styles will have to pick one of the two wrestlers tonight to face for his Legends Title. Rudy Charles was the referee.

Match 2: Angelina Love (c) vs Taylor Wilde for the TNA Knockouts Title.

Earl Hebner was announced as the referee and he started posing on the ropes the way Stone Cold Steve Austin would. As Jeremy Borash noted on his twitter (twitter.com/jeremyborash), there were many "You Screwed Bret" chants. I think I was one of the first to yell that. During the match, Angelina Love got on the microphone and said she did not screw Bret. Angelina Love came out to her TNA theme while Taylor Wilde came out to the Blur song "Song 2".

During the match, Angelina Love was going to walk out of the match. JB announced that the referee said that if Angelina didn't go back into the ring by the count of 10, the Knockouts Title will be forfeited and Taylor Wilde would win. At the count of 7, Angelina was going to walk out and then Taylor went out and dragged her back into the ring. Angelina Love eventually won the match by putting her feet on the ropes. Earl Hebner raised Angelina Love's arms on the outside. Taylor Wilde was not happy and chased Earl/Angelina to the back.

Jeremy Borash got on the microphone and said AJ Styles was behind the curtain listening and is not sure who to face later tonight so he said he wants the fans to help him decide. JB asked if the fans wanted to see AJ vs Suicide - there were more boos. JB then asked if the fans wanted to see AJ vs Daniels to which the crowd cheered very loud.

Match 3: "The Blueprint" Matt Morgan vs "Showtime" Eric Young

Matt Morgan came out to Disturbed - "Down With The Sickness" while Eric Young came out to his TNA theme. Eric Young played the babyface with "Canada" on his pants. Matt Morgan was really playing the heel throughout the match. The match went back and forth with Morgan dominating a large portion of the match. Eric Young eventually put his Death Valley Driver on Matt Morgan and won the match clean.

Jeremy Borash then said that AJ Styles will be facing neither Suicide or Daniels. He will be facing both Suicide and Daniels in a 3-way later tonight for the Legends Title. He then told the fans to text "Backstage" to a 5 digit number as one lucky individual will get the opportunity to get backstage passes for the night. He also said that there will be a huge surprise at the end of the night. He said they will be taking a 15 minute intermission and after that there will be Spike TV cameras there to take video footage of the crowd.

- 15 minute intermission -

After the intermission, he brought the Spike TV cameras out and they filmed the crowd.

Match 4: "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles (c) vs Daniels and Suicide

During the match, Daniels got the mic and said "do you want me to punch AJ?". The crowd cheered. He then punched AJ and said he has one for Suicide too, to which he then hit Suicide. This was a match where all the wrestlers had the chance to put all their main moves in and out of the ring. Eventually, AJ Styles ended up hitting the Styles Clash on Daniels for the win.

After the match, AJ Styles grabbed the mic and talked about how the people in the arena were TNA fans! He said he feels like a legend because in the ring there were 3 of the greatest wrestlers. He shook Suicide's hand and asked the fans if he should punch Daniels in the face to which the crowd cheered for. Daniels was interacting with the crowd saying "No, Don't!". AJ then said "I'm going to do something better than punch you in the face, I'm going to offer you a handshake" to which he then shook Daniels' hand.

Match 5 - Main Event: Sheik Abdul Bashir & Beer Money vs "The King of The Mountain" Jeff Jarrett and Team 3D.

Sheik Abdul Bashir came out followed by Beer Money. Sheik grabbed the microphone and spoke in his language to Beer Money. James Storm then told a story: he said he had trouble coming to Canada and was stuck at customs. The people asked him questions and his alcolhol level was .18. They asked how often he drinks and he said he drank as much as stupid as the guy looked. He then said Canada is one of the filthiest places he has ever been in.

Robert Roode grabbed the microphone and then told James to back up because he was actually from Canada. He said the best part of coming to Abbotsford, BC was eventually leaving it. He took a few more shots at the fans and really generated some heel heat to the point of fans throwing popcorn and plastic cups into the ring. Sheik threw the popcorn back at the fans.

Team 3D and Jeff Jarrett then came out. Many "We want tables" chants erupted throughout the night. They fight and Sheik put on James Storm's Beer Money shirt, sunglasses and cowboy hat during the match. Brother Ray pulled James Storm's trunks down to the point his ass was revealed for a while. Jeff Jarrett then hit the stroke on one of the Beer Money wrestlers.

The babyfaces shoved each other about the tables. "1 2 3 - Get the tables!". Jeff Jarrett and Brother Devon grab a table out from under the ring. Most of the fans on the outside of the ringside seats swarmed to the ringside seats to see this. They put Sheik (I recall) through the table "3D" style and got the pin for the win.

Brother Ray got on the mic afterwards and asked the fans if they had a great time. He then called Earl Hebner back into the ring. Brother Ray said the fans don't like him very much. He said he doesn't like Earl, Devon doesn't like Earl, and the founder Jeff Jarrett couldn't stand him. Jeff Jarrett then punched Earl down to a pop. Earl was helped to the back.

Jeff Jarrett said he thinks Canadian fans were always passionate and that his best friend ever in the business was Canadian - Owen Hart. Fans started chanting "Owen" afterwards.

Jeremy Borash then said that the surprise was since not everyone could go backstage to meet all the wrestlers, they were going to bring backstage out. Team 3D would then stick around in the ring and take pictures with fans who paid $20. Daniels, Taylor Wilde, and Eric Young came out to sign autographs to those ringside. I didn't stick around too long afterwards but it was fun due to the crowd being rowdy and TNA did a very good job of keeping fans excited throughout the night and gave it an interactive feel. I was a little disappointed that Kurt Angle was not at the show but I had a good time."

Lucha Report 03/06

NEWS

Mistico told Diario Record on Tuesday that he feels like he has been shut out of the major shows at Arena Mexico over the last couple of years and that it boggles his mind that EMLL won’t use a big star like Mistico (yes he went 3rd person) in a big match. Mistico said that no matter how hard he has tried to please the fans and make his matches interesting, the feeling isn’t mutual on the promotional side. Mistico basically goes on to say that guys have kissed the ass of the office over the past couple of years to get big main events on the Anniversary or Year-End shows at Arena Mexico and that is something he won’t do because everything he has achieved he has done it in the ring with the help of his fans not the office. Mistico said that he is getting tired of waiting for opportunities that just aren’t being given to him so he may have to leave Mexico completely to get them whether it be in Japan or even the United States in the WWE.

Dr. Wagner Jr. told Diario Record yesterday that he is very close to a deal with AAA that would allow him to work independent shows using AAA talent which still maintaining his independence is very important. Wagner said that AAA is giving him a tremendous opportunity to face El Mesias for the AAA Mega Heavyweight Title on the biggest stage in Mexico, which he feels like his worth is finally being shown by a promotion. AAA President Joaquin Roldan said that Wagner is a tremendous wrestler and is a perfect fit in the best promotion in Mexico.

El Fantasma told Diario Record yesterday that he has banished Konnan from even being in the Palacio de los Deportes for the big Triplemania show on June 13th due to his involvement in the beating of Juventud Guerrera. Fantasma said that Silver King will only be able to compete without his mask after he has mocked the commission by putting the mask that he lost 22 years ago to Hijo del Santo back on again. Fantasma also talked about Jack Evans saying that he would be able to compete if he met the terms of the commission. Fantasma then said that AAA Vice-President Dorian Roldan accepted these terms after meetings recently due to the fact that legal action would be taken if these rules were broken.

AAA President Joaquin Roldan though contradicts what Fantasma said saying that he isn’t qualified to make such moves and has no authorization over anything that AAA days. Roldan said that whatever problems the promotion has are fixed in the promotion not with some commission and that Fantasma should keep his mouth shut.

Now some notes from the Triplemania press conference today at Centro Banamex in Mexico City where it was announced that Triplemania will only be on PPV this year and not on TV as well as being released on DVD also. There will be at least one dark match that won’t be on the PPV but could be on the DVD as an extra. The trailer for the AAA animated movie will be shown in the building and an announcement regarding an AAA video game will be made as well. AAA will also be donating money to Rebeca de Alba’s charity for children with cancer that Blue Demon Jr. has been very beneficial to also.

AAA President Joaquin Roldan said that that about 9,350 tickets have been sold so far in the 17,000 seated Palacio de los Deportes and that in the next 10 days he thinks that this will be a complete sellout.

Silver King spoke at the press conference demanding that Hijo del Santo meet him in a rematch of their famous mask match 22 years ago and that this time the result will be different because he isn’t a 16 year old punk kid anymore and now has international experience being a 13-time champion holding many belts. SK said that he hasn’t needed his father’s name to mooch off of to make his career like his brother as he has had to work very hard to get where he is today. SK then said that he is fed up with everyone that wants him to work without a mask at Triplemania and that he will do what he wants.

Wagner was asked about his brother’s statements and said that he shouldn’t be holding a grudge against him because he wanted to defend his family heritage and does think it is strange that ever since he returned to AAA he has tried to imitate him in every way due to his jealousy.

TNA house show results from Kennewick, Washington

Quick TNA house show results from Kennewick, Washington:

*TNA X-Division champion Suicide defeated Daniels.

*Eric Young pinned Matt Morgan.

*TNA Knockouts champion Angelina Love defeated Taylor Wilde.

*TNA Legends champ AJ Styles defeated X-Division champ Suicide in a bout where neither title was on the line. I believe this was Daniels as Suicide this time around.

*Jeff Jarrett & TNA Tag Team champs Team 3D defeated Beer Money Inc. & Sheik Bashir.

Notes: No Samoa Joe. I didn't know he had gone home until hearing Mike's hotline after the show. About 500-650 there....they did the usual meet and greet after the show. A short show, about 2 hours, 20 minutes, but they let everyone work and do their thing, so it was worth the time and financial investment. I just wish their TV was three hours so they could let these guys do it on television every week.

Ritorno in WWE

TNA IN NAMPA, IDAHO LIVE REPORT

The top story was Samoa Joe's injury (I was shocked when I saw him and I didn't read about it on the site or his Twitter page).

He had his right arm wrapped. He along with Earl Hebner (who is growing a goatee) and later on Rudy Charles signed autographs by the merchandise stand right before the show started. They only signed shirts, programs, DVD's and eventually tickets too. Joe was a good guy and shook hands with his left hand with everyone and Rudy Charles seemed like a good guy. Earl Hebner at before the show seemed very quiet, but seemed a little more relaxed during the intermission.

In case you care the merchandise stand had a couple of TNA t-shirts, a Main Event Mafia shirt, an LAX shirt, a beer money shirt, TNA best of DVD's of Christopher Daniels, Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe, Jeff Jarrett and I think Sting too. They also had a program. The T-Shirts were $25, the DVD's and program was $20

Referee- Earl Hebner

In a non title match where the winner would get a TNA legends title shot later on in the evening Daniels beat Suicide via a hurancanrana into a pin. The lights went out and Suicide appeared on the very left side of where I was sitting. He didn't have the X-Division title with him.

Referee- Earl Hebner (letting the heels switch after they were thrown out of the ring)

Taylor Wilde and Becca (sorry couldn't hear the last name) beat the Beautiful people via a rollup. I didn't hear Becca's last name. Becca's family was in the crowd right by the ringside table. Angelina Love did have the TNA Knockout's title

The match was shot by MTV and should appear sometime in July.

Referee- Rudy Charles

In a 20 minute time limit match (don't worry it didn't go to the limit) Matt Morgan beat Eric Young via a Bicycle kick (or whatever the move is called).

Intermission

Referee- Rudy Charles

In the match of the night in my opinion, AJ Styles on his birthday beat Christopher Daniels via the Styles Clash. After the match the crowd sang AJ "Happy Birthday". I don't know if it's the lights or what, but the TNA Legends title looked very glittery for whatever reason.

Referee- Earl Hebner (hearing a clap and assuming the heels made a tag).

The main event a six man tag team match saw Team 3D and Jeff Jarrett beat Beer Money and Sheik Abdul Bashir when the Sheik was hit with the 3D by Team 3D and Jeff Jarrett into a table. Team 3D did bring the TNA Tag Team and IWGP Tag Team titles to the ring.

After the match Jeff Jarrett and Team 3D brought a kid to the ring and gave him part of the table which the three of them signed.

After the main event they had the "Superfans" package where for $20 fans and whomever they brought with them could go into the ring and have their picture taken with Team 3D which would be printed off in a few minutes. For everyone else they had AJ Styles, Eric Young, Rudy Charles, Earl Hebner, Samoa Joe, Daniels, Jeremy Borash, Becca and when they were finished Team 3D signing autographs by the guardrails.

It was a good show, everyone worked hard and I don't have a lot to complain about (except for like the TV show things that didn't make sense and the first two matches having similar pins).

I enjoyed the show and if TNA is coming to your town and you have the time and money to go to the live event go. The show was good even without the Main Event Mafia, LAX and some of the other stars not there.

Samoa Joe Update
