NEWS

AAA held a press conference yesterday at Six Flags over Mexico in Mexico City yesterday regarding their upcoming TV taping (one now instead of two) for FOX Sports Espanol on 11/29. Dr. Wagner Jr., Jack Evans, Marco Corleone, El Mesias, & Pimpinela Escarlata represented AAA with AAA Vice-President Dorian Roldan presiding over the conference and Wagner was the main speaker among the wrestlers saying that if he doesn’t win the Lucha Libre Premier tournament then he hopes that someone from Laguna would win specifically talking about Pimpinela Escarlata who Doc said that he was a fan of when he was a child to laughter from the peanut gallery. Pimpi then got on the mic and said that he feels great responsibility being in this tournament after 22 years and he hopes the fans keep supporting him. Jack then got on the mic and said that he was so glad to be working for AAA or anywhere in wrestling because he was always told as a kid that he was too small to be a wrestler but he has proved everyone wrong and will continue to do so. Jack, Pimpi, & Marco then went on some rides afterwards for fun.

Dragon Rojo will be the next luchador to make the leap into the telenovela world as he will be starting on the TV Azteca drama called Pobre Diabla. Dragon will be playing a priest who becomes a luchador to raise money for his orphanage. Nice to see some originality in the writing.

Mistico will be making his next defense of his IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title tomorrow in a rematch against the man who he defeated for the title a few months ago in Tiger Mask IV at Sumo Hall in Tokyo.

Doi opened the show. He talked about the Euro tour, beating Susumu, and calling out the veterans. He then went on to talk about the main event. Cyber was originally supposed to be on the RH side. He got hurt. Kzy was listed as his replacement, but now he has the flu, so he is out. His replacement ended up being Dr. Muscle. Ironically, I was actually thinking just yesterday that we hadn't seen the good Doctor in some time and he may not be coming back this time.

CIMA encouraged Abby to drop a second elbow on NOSAWA. If they just air those two elbows 100 times it will be my DG TV match of the forever.

CIMA came out after match three and hit YAMATO with the singapore cane. He insulted him then ran off. YAMATO jokingly wondered why Tozawa didn't save him.

Kotoka joined in on the Hulk Dance today ....

Zetsurins came out after the main, Mochi again answering Doi on his generation battle challenge. CIMA and Gamma also came out, siding with Mochizuki, Fujii, and Kishiwada. This brought out YAMATO who went right after CIMA, gaining revenge for earlier. Takagi and Tozawa also came out.

This eventually lead to a challenge for a 5 vs. 5 generational battle. Doi, Yoshino, YAMATO, Takagi, Hulk vs. CIMA, Gamma, Mochizuki, Fujii, Kishiwada. Tozawa however basically said "Dude I'm here too, I'm so in this". CIMA told him that he was garbage and that his side could add Stalker and make it 6 on 6, but then deferred to Mochizuki who had another idea.

This brought out former Dragon Gate member Takuya Sugawara, making his first appearance since the "firing" of Aaganiisou in 2004. He will side up with the old timers to make it 6 on 6.

They appealed to Yagi to make the match for the 12/3 Korakuen. He noted that King of Gate was supposed to start there, but this idea was much better so they will re-schedule. The match was made, and will be a Naniwa Style Elimination match.

Anthony W. Mori came out after this, and addressed "Henry" (.....).

Since their rivalry was never really settled, a match was made for the Buyuden at the end of this month. Mochi will team with Mori vs. Sugawara and his ZERO1 life partner Minoru Fujita.

Japan's low-gimmick promotion is back with another very solid looking card. And here goes the opening video. Music's interesting, sorta atonal. And here's the opening ceremony. Nothing fancy this time. Masvidal is announced from Cuba and looks like he's got the flu.

RONNIE USHIWAKA MANN (142.4) vs. SHIGEOKI OSAWA (142.9)

Card kicks right into high gear with this matchup of 23 year old possible future superstars. Mann has a huge experience edge vs. the undefeated Osawa. Osawa is shown with amateur wrestling bg on the video, sporting medals and trophies, and punching power on his MMA clips. Only 7 months in MMA. Mann we have seen before and is very good on the ground and appears to have an edge in height and reach.

Osawa lefty. Mann right lead lands. Another 2-1 as Osawa enters. Clinch, Mann knees the head and takes back. Hooks in. Cross face. Knees the head. Hooks back in. Here's the RNC. One hook out. Osawa drops Mann forward on his head and reverses. FG. Mann always working for position. Osawa drops punches when he has an opening which isn't much, some land, some don't. Warned for back of the head. Mann tries rubber guard but Osawa too tight on him. Close round but Mann 10-9. Osawa lumped up some from the early punches, right eye closing.

Mann forgets his mouthpiece lol. Both feinting at long range, Mann lands a bodykick, Osawa returns one. Mann hits one again. Tries to pull Guillotine but Osawa slips it and is on top in HG. Mann tunrs into him and Osawa gets a Guillotine. Nada. Mann on a leg, Osawa punches the head and they're up. Osawa wild with a right. Mann drills one. Osawa may be gassing. Mann beating him to the punch. Lands to the body and shoots a double. Osawa hangs on the ropes but gets TDed, tries a Guillotine but nada. Mann on top in HG. Osawa gives up back. Mann gets body scissors and partial choke but Osawa turnes sideways. Mann goes for an arm. Hammers away at the bell. Mann 10-9.

Osawa looking very beat up. Wild with a HK. Mann kicks the body. Osawa missing short with kicks. Mann LK. Osawa tries a lead upper from center field. Mann right lead. Both miss a lot. Mann HK. Ref TO to look at Osawa's eye. Or... not. What the fuck was that about. Osawa left hook. Mann HK, pulls triangle. Nada. Osawa on top in FG. Some little hammerfists. Mann tries RG again, nada. Osawa slips it and drops a punch. Ref standup. Warns Mann for being half black. Osawa starts landing his looping shots. Flash KD. Mann shoots, clinches, knees, takes Osawa down. Takes Back. Osawa backdrops, reverses. Trade little punches. I think Osawa won that round but Mann should take the fight. Osawa impressive for his experience level. Mann takes the UD. Good fight.

DAVE 'Pee Wee' HERMAN (239.6) vs. JIM YORK (256.4)

Pee Wee figures to just have too much natural ability for the big tough Kiwi but we remember what happened last time he came to Japan and should have won easy. Got his ass whupped, is what. Here's their recent fight clips, which we have all seen. Oh Dear God---Pee Wee comes in to Boy George 'Do You Really Wanna Hurt Me'. Looks in great shape. We hope. Apparently trains at a real gym now, instead of his garage, since the asswhupping. Pee Wee has height, youth, experience and reach but gives up weight.

Pee Wee lefty. Early clinch. Gets some knees. And the TD although double underhooked. HG. York flips him over and lands a big right as they come up. York landing a lot here. Drops Pee Wee with a right as he tries to kick, Pee Wee upkicks and York grabs a heel hook and drops to his back. Pee Wee ax kicks 5 times from his back and the third one knocks York cold. That was... different.

YUJI HOSHINO (143.3) vs. MARLON SANDRO (143.3)

The multi-talented Sandro was victimized by a horrible decision to Omigawa in the GP and finds himself on the undercard tonight. Hoshino up from the minors and figures to be outmatched. Cage Force champion. Has been off all year injured. No film on him, just stillshots. Sandro is King of Pancrase. Shows his two sick wins in the GP and his reaction to the ripoff decision. Stats very close. Sandro looks a bit bigger and in a foul mood.

Sandro LKs a couple. Yuji counters with a right lead. Sandro bangs a left hook, clinch. Yuji tries a trip, nada. Ref break. Yuji body kicks, Sandro counters with a right. Clinch. Sandro kneeing, blocking Yuji's. Ref break. Yuji body kicks, Sandro counters a right hook, follows up with another, and good night. Sandro cuts his promo in Portuguese, then English asking for a title shot.

AKIHIRO GONO (167.6) vs. KIM YOON YOUNG (167.1)

The veteran Gono comes off the horrible head kick KO loss to Dan Hornbuckle and might be entering the punching bag career phase here. 'Snake Eater' Kim a sub specialist up from the minors. We see the horrible KO several times. We see Kim nailing a RNC. He looks very tall. They throw Ramen to the crowd---Shin Ramen is another Kim nic and is how he is announced. Here's a Gono entrance! OMG---he's not in costume. No dancing. His first straight entrance ever. Well, coming off that KO, don't blame him. Gives up 13 years and 5 inches. Huge edge in experience. Kim not a striker so maybe thought 'safe'.

Mirror game early. Gono LK. Another, Kim has a 1-2 but not landing it. Eats a left hook. LK. Kim jab. Gono LK, right hand. Kim's hands and feet are slow. Gono countering easily. Kim pulls full guard. Latches onto an arm. Tries a triangle. Has Gono's hands trapped. Gono 10-9.

Gono lands some LKs, eats a body shot, shoots and scores but Kim has him wrapped up again. Gono gets loose for a sec and drops a right. Kim after Kimura. Gono pulls out. Kim after triangle, Gono gets to HG. Tries to posture back, Kim regains FG. Gono stands, scrambles to side, but Kim regains HG. Gono trying to get his leg out, can't. Kim goes for the arm again. Gono passes to side. NS. Up. Kim lands a right lead. Gono didn't like it. And a 2-1. Not much on them. Gono left hook. Not much action. 10-10.

Kim getting more aggressive. Combo, clinch. Gono bangs out of it. Kim's shots starting to land. Gono drops him with a right, knee on the way up. Hook, right, flying knee. Kim hurt but keeps coming. Gono starting to land at will. Left hook, left upper. Kim keeps coming and bangs the body. Gono has the left hook zeroed in now. HK. Kim reeling. Flying knee. LK. Body shots. Kim fires back. Gono landing everything. Kim still there and tries a HK. Lands a low kick and TO. Smart if intentional, HE needed the rest. He's all bloodied up. Gono TD. Kim octopuses, tries a triangle. Gono drops a right. Gono 10-8 and wraps up the UD.

Gono switches to very VERY fluent English---beyond fluent actually, eloquent and grammatically perfect---midpromo and puts Hornbuckle over and asks for a rematch, hoping Hornbuckle wins the title first.

STANISLAV NEDKOV (203.9) vs. KEVIN RANDFLEMAN (203)

Nedkov off the groin-shot-infested win over Travis Room With A Wiuff looked plenty good enough to beat Randleman, which is not saying much and hasn't been for years. Nedkov has good wrestling and JJ and is undefeated, 10 years younger. Almost as muscular as Randleman.

Both pawing jabs. Almost silly. Kevin tries an LK and Nedkov shoots. Clinch. Kevin TD to side-ish HG. FG. Nedkov double underhooks. Kevin tries to push his head and can't. Ref standup. Warns both for not being Japanese. Nedkov punches wild. Kevin shoots. Clinch. Nedkov bulls Kevin down with a Whizzer and pulls Guillotine. Kevin pulls out and is on top in FG. Eh. 10-10. Not much either way.

Kevin actually jabs. Nedkov bulls a TD. Kevin almost monkeyflips him. Nedkov on top in HG, grinds the forearm. Hammerfists. After the far arm. Nope. Kevin reverses. FG to HG. Nedkov sits out but Kevin takes him back down. WTF? Nedkov's trunks sorta come apart. TO for repairs. Both getting a rest here. Clinch, Nedkov knees the body. TD but Kevin reverses on the way down. This is the best Kevin has looked in a long time. Not gassing, either, so far. Not accomplishing much from the top here though. Nedkov escapes, gets a double. Pounds the body from side position, Crucifix, pounds the head. Kevin gets to 4 point. Another 10-10 IMO.

Nedkov combo, shoots to clinch, knees, TD. FG. Pounding, missing some, hitting some. Kev pulls him in. Ref standup. Yellow cards Nedkov? AND Randleman. Back to pattycake. Both looking gassed now. Red card to both. I thought a red card was a DQ. Kevin shooting, stuffed. Nedkov knees the gut. Ref break. Kev jabs a couple. Both way gassed. Kevin LK. Nedkov lands a right. Clinch, Nedkov knees the body. waistlift TD. SM. Grinds the forearm. Nedkov 10-9 and should take it. Nedkov... Randleman... Nedkov takes the SD. Sort of a stinker, but again, better than Randleman has looked in a while. Nedkov extremely underwhelming here.

EIJI MITSUOKA (154.3) vs. KAZUNORI YOKOTA (153.7)

On paper, interesting style clash with Yokota's control game with unpredictable flashes of heavy hands vs. Mitsuoka's submission arsenal in this very even seeming matchup of LW contenders. On the vid we see Mitsuoka subbing people, and Yokota KOing Schulz about 15 times. Stats very close. They keep getting the name graphics backwards.

Eiji lefty. Yoko giving that herky jerky Grabaka look. Eats a LK. Eiji closes and clinches. Pounds with a free hand. Blocks a throw. Knees. Blocks the throw again. Shoulder butts under the chin. Knee. Beating Yokota up here. Ref break. Eiji catches a knee, throws Yoko, gets Flying Mared but catches the head on the way over. Yoko pulls free and on top in guard. Eiji tries a sweep. And gets it the next time. Rides, up and rear waistlock. Takes a single and drops Yoko on his head. Up and waistlock. Yoko tries a back elbow. Eiji 10-9.

Yoko lead hook. Tries to follow up but telegraphs too much. Stuffs a shot. Clinch. Too fast ref break. Yoko right lead twice and eats one. Clinch. Yoko footstomps. Ref break. Hirokazu Konno (I guess), billed just as 'Bull', vs. Tomoaki Ueyama. Why is this 'The Fight of the Soul'? 2 rounder. Terrible, almost comedy fight. Ueyama wins.

There is some kind of giant in the ring cutting a promo. He's on the NYE show? Who the hell is this guy? They say he's a Chinese wrestling champion? He's over 7' tall. He whips his shirt off and he's lean and muscular as hell. He is never identified.

SATORU KITAOKA (154.3) vs. JORGE MASVIDAL (154.3)

Recently deposed LW champ Kitaoka's killer wrestling and subs but questionable cardio vs. the always dangerous boxing-based attack of Masvidal should make for a good fight. If Masvidal can stay out of trouble early he could pull the upset. God Kitaoka is a weird little guy. Masvidal 5 years younger and big edge in height and reach. Kitaoka in shorts not long tights.

Kitaoka lefty. Shoots. Pulls out of a Guillotine. Jorge gets it again. Not sunk though. Jorge sitting against the ropes. Kitoka kind of driving forward into his lap. Grabs a leg. Heel hook. Jorge gets Brock position but short of landing. Kitaoka turns it. Jorge lands hard shots. Pulls out but Kitaoka grabs the leg again. Lets it go but on top with waistlock. Jorge sits up on the ropes and pounds and stands out, lands a knee, a big straight right, and a HK. Kitaoka is hurt and grabs a leg but Masvidal takes his back and pounding away. Kitoka gets his own back onto the mat and grabs the leg again. Jorge grabs Guillotine again. Kitaoka rolls and Jorge gets SM. Drops a right at the bell. Jorge 10-8. Kitaoka looks finished. They have to carry him back to the corner. Mouth breathing, nose broken, forehead lumped up.

Kitaoka shoots, eats a knee, gets the double. Jorge tried a Guillotine. Lost it. Ref standup. Kitaoka shoots, Jorge loses a choke, Kitoka grabs the heel. Jorge spins out, lands a knee, G&P. Kitaoka hangs on tight. Gasping. Slaps the head. Jorge stands out. Ref standup. Jorge drops him with a sweep and ankle pic and puts him out with 7 right hands. Kitaoka still out after Masvidal finishes his promo. Huge win for Masvidal.

JORGE SANTIAGO (183) [SENGOKU MW Champion] vs. MAMED KHALIDOV (181.7) *non title*

Potentially terrific fight. Santiago has been off since his FotY title win over Misaki in January (was supposed to fight Belfort on Affliction). Khalidov like Jorge is a very well rounded fighter, and does unorthodox things and is dangerous from any position. Santiago figures to be a little better at everything but this could go either way. Khalidov on a 17 fight streak. Almost equal wins via KO and sub. Same for Santiago who has on paper a slight edge in size, and a considerable one in quality of experience. Both 29. Khalidov looks bigger if anything.

Mamed short with LKs. Jorge right lead short, Mamed misses a high spin back hook kick. Jorge lands a right and clinches and takes Mamed down. SM to HG. Mamed stays tight. Jorge drops an elbow and liver shot. Grinds the forearm. Mamed CLOCKS Santiago from the BOTTOM and knocks him off. Follows up and he's riding and punching and now top and punching and Jorge is OUT and it's OVER. Holy shit. Spectacular win.

Khalidov gotta get a rematch for the title now, unless SF or UFC grabs him off first (and I bet his phone was ringing this morning). Did I mention he's dangerous from any position? Wow.

HATSU HIOKI (143.1) vs. MICHIHIRO OMIGAWA (143.1)

Hioki was favored to win the GP but had to drop due to injury after beating eventual winner Kanehara, against whom Omigawa improbably made it to the finals, partially aided by the bad decision over Sandro. Hioki figures to be able to tap Omigawa after it hits the ground, but Omigawa has been specializing in upsets this year. Hioki has a lot of height and reach, youth and experience.

Omigawa lands 1-2 to the body. Right lead. Eats a jab. Another. Tries to bull in. Hioki finds the jab, eats a left hook. Takes Omigawa down in the corner. Pulls out of Guillotine. SM with an arm pinned. Takes free head or body shots when they're there. Knees the body. Omigawa closes guard. Tries to elevate but Hioki takes his back. Hooks in. Omigawa had an arm. Hioki goes for arm bar. Omigawa stacks him up. Hioki thumps the head with his free hand. Omigawa pulls out and starts to pound at the bell. Hioki 10-9.

Hioki switches lefty. Switches back. Jabs. HK. LK. Omigawa tries to work his way in. Ducks into a knee. Hoki's jab working. Jab jab knee HK. Omigawa wings and misses. Hioki boxing nice. TO for... nothing. Warning for excessive Marquis of Queensbury. More spirited trading and Hioki TD. HG. Almost Brock position and dropping shots. FG. Omigawa upkick and they're up. Hioki back to the jab. Omigawa keeps coming, misses some, lands a couple. Hioki 10-9.

Omigawa tries a Sunday off a fake glove touch. Bullshit move. Starts landing some shots. Hioki lands his but Omigawa's harder. Hioki takes an ankle but Omigawa right up and steps out. This is getting Ali-Frazier now. Omigawa lands some hard shots and Hioki takes him down, but scrambles up and clinches. Ref break. Hioki jabs, Omigawa goes to the body. Clinch. Ref break. Hioki finding the range now. HK. Omigawa keeps coming, stuffs a TD. Omigawa walking in, eating shots, teeing off, missing, landing. Stuffs a TD. Hioki buckes him with a short right and pulls guard and tries triangle and pounding away. Omigawa wins the round but not enough to win the fight. Good fight, not great.

Decision... Omigawa... Hioki... Omigawa gets another bullshit SD. Omigawa actually says on his promo he doesn't agree with the decision.

Pretty good card but Sengoku has done better. If the fights had been in a different order might have been a very dramatic, exciting card.

ZOILA FRAUSTO (132.5) vs. ELISHA HELSPER (134.5)

Helsper back from 3 years off from a stellar 0-1 record, after cutting her prefight promo about her 'first two fights'. I think Zoila was on the card where Kenny Shamrock tested postive after he beat the fat guy who's dead now. Local chick. Tyke Juan Dough base style. Gives up height, weight and reach but a year younger and obviously much more active.

Both cautious early. Zoila starts getting her kicks going and lands a jab. Both out of range. Action picks up a bit with a 2 to go. Zoila a little more accurate. Both return to throwing from out of range. Both telegraphing. Both try to steal it in last few. Eh. 10-10.

Some trading and clinch. Elisha lands a right hook inside. She's the aggressor but not much landing from either. Zoila gets a knee in from clinch. Lands a HK. Her toenail cuts Elisha under the eye. Drags Elisha down and pounds from standing. Traps a leg. Lets her up. Lands another HK and right lead. Starting to take over. Elisha rushes punching and clinches but gets the worst of it inside. Jabs. Zoila lands from outside. Elisha rushes and lands. Zoila 10-9.

Elisha comes on and lands to the body and clinches. TD. Zoila grabs the fence but goes down anyway. HG. Ref standup? Too fast. Local yokel reffing yet again. Zoila lands couple good jabs. Elisha rushes to clinch but again eats knees. Turns Zoila against the cage. Trying to maul. Lands some low knees. Shoulder uppercut. Ref break. Why doesn't he just hold her while Zoila hits her. Zoila combo. Elisha lands a combo and clinches. Zoila again gets the best of the inside fighting and TD. Pounds from standing. Holds the leg. Throws it aside and pounds. Backs off, kicks the legs, drops a bomb. Think she stole the round and should win 30-28. Prolly will get 30-27s. Yup. UD. So so fight. Plenty of spirit but mediocre skill.

THOMAS DIAGNE (155.5) vs. MERRITT WARREN (154)

Diagne a San Shou guy from France, Warren an American kickboxer who says he may retire if he loses. So 2 kickboxers basically. Warren seems to be one of those guys who gets himself all nerved up before the fight. Diagne 5 years younger and supposedly the SS champion of France with over 100 fights, has height and reach.

Another local yokel ref. Both test low kicks. Diagne kicks the body. Warren switches. Rushes, nada. Trade body kicks and Diagne gets a high slam to SM. Counters a sweep by going for a Kimura, ends up with HG. Tries to posture up. Both thump the body. Warren holds tight and tries another sweep and gets FG, Diogne postures and pounds. Warren goes sweep to leglock, Diagne stands and tries to balance to punch, Warren rolls to reverse heel hook and gets the tap. Very nice.

LUKE ROCKHOLD (185.5) vs. JESSE TAYLOR (186)

AKA vs. Quest. This is a really good matchup. JT seems to have gotten his head together since TUF, but I think he's in trouble here as Rockhold has just been subbing everybody. Luke has the height and a LOT of reach.

Luke lefty. JT shoots, stuffed. JT drives, Luke stuffs. JT gets the TD but Luke right up. JT takes him down again. FG. Luke looking for Triangle, JT gets his back, Luke stands, turns in. JT gets his back again but too high. Luke reverses. JT goes for the arm. Luke gets the back, body triangle, arm triangle. JT fighting it off. Luke pounds. Rolls JT left and right. Sinks the RNC. JT pulls the arm down and Luke goes to Gable Grip. JT goes to sleep. It's over. Luke is a guy to watch in the future.

BRANDON CASH (256) vs. SHANE DEL ROSARIO (240)

Two undefeated heavies. Both have power and some JJ. Seen Shane before and he's very skilled. 8-0 with 7 KOs. Cash 5-0 with 3 KOs. These guys are big. Hometowner Cash taller and heavier but gives up youth, experience and reach.

Shane lefty. Cash shoots, stuffed, lands HUGE right KD. Shane up, Cash takes him back down, Cash pounds away. Ref about to step in but Shane gives him the 'I'm okay'. Cash mounts, then side. Tries arm tri. Mount. HG. Shane sweeps, both up. Another Cash TD. Shane tries omaplata, trans to triangle, nada. HG. FG. Shane tries arm bar, nada. Cash stands and pounds. Falls back into FG. Shane pulls Omaplata out of nowhere, reaches over and locks the other shoulder, and gets the tap. That was GREAT. Victory From The Jaws Of etc. Dipshit crowd boos him.

Cung Le announced to return on the 12/19 card, along with Robbie Lawler, and Jacare vs. Lindland.

BILLY EVANGELISTA (159) vs. JORGE GURGEL (159)

Fighting at 159 catch. Evangelista is the wrong guy for Gurgel to play Arturo Gatti with.

Jorge winging low kicks early. Billy shows some too. Both then go a little cautious. Billy switches lefty. Starts landing the lead low kick. Gurgel hanging back. Billy doing some fancy footwork. Gurgel trying to box smart for once but getting outboxed. Billy switches back and picks his shots and gets a forward legtrip TD just before the bell. Billy 10-9.

Gurgel more aggressive now. Billy opens righty, switches lefty, switches back. Lands a knee from clinch. Billy picking his shots. Jorge lands a left hook. Billy can't decide which stance. Eats a combo and scores a TD. Butterfly guard. Billy rains shots and tries to pass, nada. Drops the elbow. Gurgel punches back and goes for kimura. Billy elbows the body and stacks him on the fence, slips the kimura. Thumps the body. Ref standup. Gurgel bowls him over with a HK and pulls guard with a Guillotine and Billy pulls out of it at the bell. Good round. Think Billy edged most of it but Jorge might have stolen it at the bell. I go 10-10.

Trading hard shots. Jorge the aggressor but my turn your turn. Billy landing a little more but Jorge a little harder. Couple clinches, helps neither. Billy may be gassing. Jorge comes on and lands a HK but Billy counters, then hits a sudden TD. Tries to pound but can't get distance. I gotta go 10-10 on that one too. I have Billy 30-29 but he looks like the stuck his face in front of a train.

Scores... 30-27 x 2... 29-28... Billy gets the UD with some hometown space to spare.

Okay card. Nothing special.

In the report, WWE announced that Summerslam had drawn 369,000 PPV buys, down from 477,000 in 2008. Breaking Point, which replaced Unforgiven, reported 169,000 buys. Night of Champions reported 267,000 buys. WWE noted that this quarter made $14.5 million in PPV revenue, down 10% from this time last year. Those are bad numbers from any point of view. 10% down is scary.

Altre informazioni sul perchè delle dimissioni di Shane McMahon

Parlare dell'abbandono di Shane davanti a papà Vince è diventato taboo, come lo è da anni menzionare Randy Savage.
Nella conference call dell'altro giorno, le parole di Vince hanno lasciato intendere che lo abbia esautorato di ogni potere.

Questa storia è stata confermata da varie persone, ma non da tutte le fonti rintracciate, quindi non è confermata al 100%.

Apparentemente fra Vince e Shane era in corso una discussione, alle Titan Towers in Stamford, settimane prima dell'annuncio. Qualunque fosse stato l'oggetto della discussione, i due hanno iniziato ad alzare i toni animatamente. Il tutto è scaturito in un litigio in piena regola, con Shane che infine dice a Vince di non poterne più di lui e che avrebbe lasciato la compagnia. Si evince perciò che Shane non ha dato le dimissioni con già dei piani prestabiliti ma colto dal suo stato in quel momento.
Altre fonti asseriscono che la preoccupazione di Shane di stare tropppo lontano dalla famiglia lo abbia convinto ulteriormente a prendere la decisione.

Il discorso di Dixie Carter al roster

Il discorso andato in onda a Impact non era un promo work. Il discorso è stato mandato in onda per scelta di Dixie Carter, mentre il creative team era di parere contrario. Nel discorso dice senza mezzi termini che coloro che non sono contenti con la direzione creativa non possono lavorare per la compagnia.

L'ironia di ciò è che recentemente 5 wrestlers hanno chiesto il rilascio. Due nomi sono pubblici: Kazarian e Homicide, le cui richieste sono state respinte.

Nell'ultimo periodo c'è stato molto malcontento fra vari wrestlers della TNA. In particolare Kazarian, Daniels, AJ Styles e Samoa Joe.

Agli ultimi tapings Kazarian ha chiesto il rilascio, dapprima incredibilmente accordato e poi, grazie all'intervento di AJ Styles, le cose si sono appianate. Proprio AJ Styles ha avuto un duro faccia a faccia con Russo lamentandosi sia dell'uso che si sta facendo di vari talenti come Kazarian, sia perchè crede che venga bookato egli stesso come un campione debole. Il suo rammarico è aumentato dopo il turn face di Angle, col quale dovrà lottare prossimamente in ppv.

Kevin Nash è stato sospeso; per questo non ha partecipato agli utlimi tapings. A smentire vari rumors, Nash non verrà pagato in quel periodo e la comunicazione non gli è arrivata via lettera ma dopo un confronto con Dixie Carter, dopo il promo shoot di Nash in seguito all'infortunio di Sabin.

Tutto ciò è avvenuto prima dell'arrivo di Hogan.

Dixie Carter ha scritto sulla sua pagina di Twitter che le porte della TNA per Shannon Moore potrebbero presto riaprirsi...

Anche Tomko è pronto per tornare in TNA.

TNA Impact on 10/29 did a 1.25 rating and 1.7 million viewers (best number since July). That was a great number going against the World Series. Spike had pushed in every commercial break for a couple of days that Hogan would be on the show. The show did a 1.06 in Males 18-34 (highest number since April) and 1.14 in Males 35-49.

In the segment-by-segment, Tara vs. Alissa Flash gained 82,000 viewers. Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley vs. Team 3-D with the accident, lost 14,000 viewers. Eric Young vs. Bobby Lashley gained 54,000 viewers and drew the highest segment on the show at 1.30. ODB & Hamada & Christy Hemme vs. Beautiful People lost 82,000 viewers. Abyss vs. Dr. Stevie lost 68,000 viewers. Rhino vs. Matt Morgan gained the 68,000 viewers back. Angle vs. Wolfe, the stretcher job and the Hogan press conference lost 82,000 viewers do a 1.18 rating.

Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua - Machida ha bisogno di un intervento chirurgico ad una mano e sarà fuori per un tempo ancora non determinato.

Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort - Silva non è certo per la data del 2 Gennaio poichè sta ancora recuperando dall'operazione al gomito infortunato.

Kurt Pellegrino vs. Frankie Edgar - Uno dei main fights dello show del 5 Dicembre è cancellato per via dell'infortunio alla schiena subito da Pellegrino. Matt Veach sarà l'avversario di Edgar.

It was a very good show, however the crowd was kind of burned out
for the main event.

The set up in the venue was better than usual. They had huge video trons
which showed entrance videos, better lighting, a better entrance area, etc..

The Young Bucks won everybody over on their German debut.

El Generico was mega-over (as always at wXw).

Shingo got a huge reaction and had a good match with Andy, but
the match of the night probably was Quackenbush vs. CIMA.

A few people were in costumes, including a guy dressed as Randy Savage and a guy at ringside in a suit and Vince McMahon mask.

Jeremy Borash was introduced and he hyped the crowd. He also invited everyone to the Hooters down the road for an aftershow party. He was getting the crowd to "be as loud as you can" to win backstage passes. Borash then introduced "the most controversial referee of all time, Earl Hebner" who was escorted to the ring by four Hooters girls. The girls then sat at the the announce table with Borash.

1. Eric Young vs. Suicide: Young ran down the crowd and the town and mentioned it was a non title match as he won't defend the Global belt on US soil. It was a decent match. Suicide won with a toprope dropkick.

2. Hamada vs. Awesome Kong: Basically a squash. Hamada got in a little offense but Kong killed her dead with the sitdown powerbomb for the win. After the match Kong kept beating on Hamada and then went after the referees before heading to the back.

3. Hernandez vs. Kip James: The guys sitting behind me who were hyped up like crazy for the show basically had no idea who anyone was. When Kip came out they asked me, "Who's that clown?" When I told them it was Billy Gunn they went crazy. "BILLY GUNN! HE WAS IN DX! BILLY RULES!"
The match itself was ok, Kip can work a crowd. Hernandez won with a flapjack like border toss. He had Kip up and Kip basically flipped over and took the face front bump and got pinned. Afterwards Kip was arguing with the Ref and then did the DX crotch chop and popped the crowd.

Next Borash hand picked various groups of folks to get backstage passes that were handed out by the Hooters girls. The guys behind me I mentioned before got one for being the loudest row.

4. Monster's Ball No Rules Match, Rhino vs. Abyss: Rhino got on the mic, insulted the crowd, insulted Abyss, Complained about TNA management and had the place hating him, as he got a face reaction at first. They had a fun little brawl, Abyss was throwing weapons in the ring and tried to grab a Hooters Girl to use as a weapon and Borash stopped him. Typical garbage brawl that ended with Rhino going for the Gore and Abyss catching him by the throat for a chokeslam onto a garbage can for the pinfall.

Next was intermission, and all the people who got backstage passes went backstage.

5. Homicide and Kiyoshi vs. Beer Money Inc. : Eric Young was in the World Elite corner and some local DJ who wasn't announced was in Beer Money's corner. Beer Money hyped the crowd with the dueling "BEER!" "MONEY" chant, and then added in "GREAT BIG HOOTERS!" Storm also pointed at the guy dressed as Vince and said, "Hey get Vince McMahon out of here, this is a TNA show!" The two teams had a really great match. The crowd was eating it up and they stole the show up to that point. Beer Money pinned Kiyoshi with their finisher.

Borash then hyped the signing of Hulk Hogan, and no one really cared. He then told us to stick around after the main Event for a big surprise.

6. TNA Heavyweight Championship
AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe: The crowd was split as far as cheers went. They had a great match. Nothing out of the ordinary, as they each hit all their signature moves but it was all really smooth and a ton of fun, the crowd was going nuts and for only 200 people making a lot of noise. The finish came as Joe got AJ up for the Muscle Buster, AJ reverses it into the Styles Clash, Joe escapes and then gets nailed with the Pele' kick and AJ gets the pin. This was a great match.

Afterwards, Borash says that they want more people to win backstage passes by getting loud. AJ cuts him saying, "It sounds to me like there's a BILLION TNA fans out there, so how can we fit them all backstage? I'm the Champ and that means I've got some stroke around here, so let's bring the backstage out here for a TNA Autograph party!" Borash says ok, everyone come down to ringside and that for only 20 dollars, your group can get a picture with AJ in the ring. Earl Hebner, Abyss, Hernandez, and James Storm also came out to ringside and signed autographs.

All in all it was a fun show.
