Razor Rob McCullough vs. Marcus Hicks opens the show.
Dull first round. First 90 seconds saw no action. Then they were clinched against the cage a few times which the ref broke up. Both threw some punches from the clinch. Hicks scored with two good lefts late in the round which may have won him the round. Tough to score by I'd go Hicks 10-9.
Second round was great. Hicks decked McCullough and grabbed a guillotine. But McCullough escped, was on top and threw a lot of punches. Once they got up, both were going after it but McCullough's kicks, punches and knees were connecting a lot more. He threw good combos while Hicks would get some single shots in. McCullough was cut near the right eye late in the round. 10-9 McCullough.
Third round was the opposite of the second. Nothing happened for several minutes. It got so bad the ref told both guys he was going to stop the match and rule it a no contest. Hicks didn't want to trade as he was tired and McCullough was the better striker. He tried one takedown and couldn't get it and stayed on the outside. McCullough scored with enough low kicks and body kicks late to win the round 10-9.
Scores 29-29, 30-27, 29-28 for McCullough
Jose Aldo vs. Chris Mickle
Aldo took him apart with low and middle kicks. Mickle was just too slow and once he hurt the body, he started throwing a flurry of punches to the head that Mickle wasn't blocking and it was stopped in 1:39.
Marcos Galvao vs. Damacio Page
Page came out throwing wild rights and connected right away and stunned Galvao. By the third punch Galvao, who was ranked top ten in the bantamweight division, was down and out. 18 seconds total.
Bart Palaszewski vs. Ricardo Lamas
Lamas scored with two takedowns and some body punches, and strong punches to the head on the ground. Palaszewski has major swelling under the right eye. Palaszewski got up at the end of the round and scored with a flurry. 10-9 Lamas
Good fight. Lamas had Palaszewski's back and actually threw a high kick to the face while behind the guy. He scored with a lot of strong ground and pound. Palaszewski took a lot of shots, got up with seconds left and was throwing back. Even though he's been dominated, Palaszewski has shown he could win if it stayed standing and at a distance, but Lamas hasn't let that happen. 20-18 Lamas
Palaszewski was scoring well standing but got taken down and pretty much rode out the round. Lamas was a late replacement and he's a good wrestler with great stamina and scored the upset. Third round could be close, either 29-28 or 30-27, but Lamas is winning the fight.
30-27 across the board for Lamas.
Mike Brown vs. Leonard Garcia for the featherweight title in a five rounder headlines
Brown looked awesome. Killer overhand right by Brown and put Garcia down and bloodied him up. He pounded from the top. Garcia never got untracked, as he tried to fight off a choke and then Brown got an arm triangle for the tap out in 1:57.
