Former Georgia star Bill Dromo passes away

Big Bill Dromo, a transplanted Canadian who was a fixture on the Georgia wrestling scene in the 60s and 70s, passed away earlier today at the age of 75.

Dromo wrestled from the late 50s into the 80s all over the world, but once he got married, the Canadian-born Dromo settled in Georgia.  He made occasional appearances when Georgia Championship Wrestling was get started on national television after having been a star in the territory years earlier.

He had been suffering from health problems, most notably Parkinson's Disease, in recent years.

Dromo started as an amateur boxer, and then was an accomplished amateur wrestler before turning pro.
