TNA Special TV Tapings

They are doing a special TV taping on 1/12, which is the Saturday before the Genesis PPV. They are taping two sessions, an afternoon and an early evening at the Impact Zone. The taping is for international distribution. TNA still has contracts in place for monthly specials (which are the PPVs in North America) all over the world. In cutting back from 12 to 10 PPVs in 2013, they still have to fill commitments for the other shows. So 1/12 will be taking the place of the PPV in February that isn’t happening. They are taping seven tag team matches, a Royal Rumble style match, an Ultimate X match and an X Division escape the cage match with the idea they’ll have fans into their product since people will travel in for two big shows and a Fan Fest the weekend of Genesis. They are bringing in some outside talent who are smaller (T.J. Perkins is one name mentioned) since they have very few X Division guys who are regulars (as in Zema Ion, Joey Ryan and Kenny King).
