Regarding Undertaker, there is still noting definite that we know of.
Everything is being kept very quiet if there even is a final decision
right now. Undertaker was in Nashville and photographed at the
Nashville Predators NHL game on 2/10, the night before Raw in that city.
He was in better condition than people expected, at least as far as
having lost noticeable weight in recent weeks. But he didn’t appear on
Raw the next day, nor was he backstage. However, there are reports that
he did have a meeting with Vince McMahon. To me, the idea of saying
Undertaker would make an appearance advertised at Elimination Chamber
(without wrestling) would put it over the top. Plus, if he had a hand
in Punk losing, then it’s a storyline for Punk wanting to face him.
Right now, if he does wrestler, and given that he lost so much weight in
a short period of time, I take that as a sign he’s planning on it, now
you need to create a storyline with Punk. Undertaker had major shoulder
surgery and major hip surgery over the past year which made it
impossible for him to do any serious training for a long time. He
couldn’t lift upper body because of the shoulder rehab, lower body
because of the hip, plus would be very limited in ability to do cardio
until the hip recovered. Due to establishing a reputation from his last
four matches, he doesn’t want to come back and have to fake his way
through a mediocre match, which is why it’s up in the air. As of a few
days ago, he was still “planned” for Punk. What happens with Punk if
he’s not doing the show has either not been fully decided or is being
kept very quiet. Those who are close with him believe that if he
doesn’t do the show this year that his career is not over and it would
simply be he didn’t have enough time to fully recover from everything.
The expectation is he would like to the 2014 show, and that show could
be built around his farewell, since he’ll be 49 at that point.
