A lawsuit filed by Nick Diaz against the Nevada State Athletic
Commission in an attempt to overturn his suspension and fine, was thrown
out of court this past week. Diaz's attorney Ross Goodman had been
trying to push that Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites, not
marijuana itself. He claimed since marijuana is only banned in
competition and Diaz claimed he last used it eight days before, but came
up positive based on that, in a test taken the night of the show, since
they couldn't prove he had used it at the time of competition, it
should be overturned. He argued that in front of the commission and they
turned a deaf ear to his logic. So now Diaz is out not only his fine,
but his legal fees.
