The company’s last show of the year, Final Battle, takes place on an
afternoon iPPV at 2 p.m. Eastern on 12/16 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in
New York. It’s on in the afternoon so as not to go head-to-head with
the WWE show at 8 p.m. The lineup is Kevin Steen vs. El Generico in a
ladder match for the ROH title, TV champ Adam Cole vs. Matt Hardy in a
non-title match, a three-way for the tag titles has Jimmy Jacobs &
Steve Corino defending against Mark & Jay Briscoe and Caprice
Coleman & Cedric Alexander, Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards vs.
Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish, Jerry Lynn vs. Mike Bennett, Michael
Elgin vs. Roderick Strong, Jay Lethal vs. Rhino, a street fight with
Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin vs. B.J. Whitmer & Rhett Titus
and Prince Nana vs. R. D. Evans.
There was nothing new on Jim Cornette other than a lot of
internal speculation as to whether or not he’ll be back. There was the
feeling that if he is back, it would probably be in a somewhat different
position.
As of right now, Generico is only booked for Final Battle.
Several contracts are coming due shortly. Some of the guys are calling around looking to be if there other options for them.
