The Big News:  It’s the second Best of Saturday Morning Slam show, featuring Tyson Kidd vs. Daniel Bryan and John Cena vs. Heath Slater.
Show Analysis:
At the beginning of the show, the host wished for a happy new year and announced that John Cena’s debut on Saturday Morning Slam will be the main event. But first, SMS will take a look at Daniel Bryan, starting with his match with Tyson Kidd from the October 20 episode.

Daniel Bryan defeated Tyson Kidd. Josh Matthews and Santino Marella were the match’s commentators. Brad Maddox was the referee. Bryan did his typical act during his entrance, which was entertaining as always. After Kidd got the upper hand at the beginning of the match, Bryan tried to leave, but Kane came out and told him to go back into the ring. Bryan then gave Kidd the longest airplane spin that I’ve ever seen. Bryan was so dizzy, he went for and missed a corner dropkick, even though Kidd wasn’t standing in one of the corners. Later, when Kidd was about to strike Bryan after running back-and-forth across the ring due to an Irish Whip, Bryan curled into a ball, which made it impossible to pin him. Santino was dumbfounded as to how this was possible. After Kidd rolled him around for a little bit, Bryan grabbed his hand, threw him on his back, and got the pin.
Afterwards, Kane celebrated with both tag title belts and lifted them in the air so Bryan couldn’t get them. After Bryan feigned sadness, Kane gave him one of the belts, and the show went off the air with the duo arguing over who is the tag team champions.
As I had hoped, the match was featured. If you haven’t seen it already, be sure to check it out.
After the commercial break, the host said that while Bryan has had an interesting year, it can be summed up in two words: YES! and NO!
A condensed version of a segment from the October 6 episode was shown, in which the host asked Bryan a few questions. He said “No” when asked “Have you ever made a mistake?” and “Do you know the taste of defeat?” He said “Yes” when asked “Do you like ice cream?” He said “No” when asked “Do you want a tag team partner?” He flipped out and started to repeatedly yell “NO!” when asked “Do you like goats?” Afterwards, the host claimed Bryan has now found his inner Zen by teaming with Kane.
The show now shifted its attention to John Cena. The host claimed Cena has been the man for a decade and counting. He also claimed that whether or not he holds the title, Cena will always be the champ, and the champ is here. I guess the host doesn't show CM Punk respect.
The “Hustle, Loyalty, Respect” video that was first shown before the original airing of the Cena-Heath Slater match was then replayed.
I normally don’t watch the commercial bumpers, but on the bumper at the end of the last commercial break, the voiceover guy said, “Talk about stylin’ and profilin’,” before Brodus Clay was shown. Call me crazy, but I don’t normally associate Brodus with Ric Flair.
Cena’s match from the December 8 episode ended the show.

John Cena defeated Heath Slater. Josh Matthews and Booker T did the commentary for the match. Slater celebrated the fact that he got the first move, but Cena was able to quickly take control. After a hip toss, Slater left the ring, and 3MB came up with a plan. Each member of the team entered the ring from a different side. When Cena tried to attack Jinder Mahal, he escaped, and Slater gave Cena a bodyslam. The three men celebrated in the ring, but the referee ejected Mahal and Drew McIntyre. While Slater was distracted by the ejection, Cena tried to lock in the STF, but Slater kicked him out of the ring. After the commercial break, a “Don’t Try This at Home” promo featuring The Miz was shown.
When the match returned, Slater still had the advantage. He tried to wear down Cena with an abdominal hold using his legs, but Cena managed to escape. Cena then did infamous “five moves of doom.” He scored the pin after hitting the Attitude Adjustment.
The host said that he hoped the audience enjoyed a look at the best of Saturday Morning Slam. He wished them a happy new year, and he said next week’s show will be a brand-new episode.
Final Thoughts:
I’m glad the Bryan-Kidd match was shown. The Cena match wasn’t a surprise, and I understand why it was shown.
No ratings data this week.
Now that 2012 is coming to a close, I want to thank Dave for giving me the opportunity to write for the site. I also want to thank everyone who has read my reports throughout the year. I hope you’ll continue to read them during 2013.
