TNA Impact on Thursday, April 19 scored a 0.98 rating, up slightly from a 0.93 rating last week. It was the first time back-to-back episodes have registered below a 1.00 rating since the final two weeks of 2012.
Impact averaged 1.268 million viewers, up from 1.170 million viewers last week, which was an eight-month low. This week's viewership was the second-lowest of 2013, only trailing last week's show.
- On cable TV Thursday night, Impact ranked #44 in overall viewers, #17 among males 18-34, and #11 among males 18-49, which was an improvement from last week's near-year-lows in the key demographics.
- Last year this week, the Apr. 19, 2012 Impact scored the exact same 0.98 rating and the demographics were nearly identical. Two years ago this week, Impact scored a 1.17 overall rating.
Caldwell's Analysis: Last week, Impact was hurt tremendously by the first hour, but the show was also hurt by the start of the second hour. It's apparent that after nearly one year at 8:00 p.m. EST, Impact has been hurt by the timeslot change, which is backed up by the quarter-hour ratings again this week. And, going live every other week and going on the road every week has not led to a ratings boost to offset the timeslot change.

The second hour rating was identical to last week's show, which was the lowest-rated of the year. The only difference was this week's first hour did not start with eye-poppingly low ratings in the first 30 minutes. But, the first hour remains an issue in the earlier timeslot.
Within the second hour, there should be concern over a descending ratings pattern. The highest rating od the show was 1.07 rating in Q5 for the Knockouts, then Impact steadily dropped off before reaching a 1.00 rating in Q8 for A.J. Styles's in-ring return. It was the lowest-rated eighth-quarter-hour rating of the year.

Q1: Impact opened with a 0.81 rating, which was not much of an improvement from a 0.75 rating to open the show last week. The segment featured the first-half of Kurt Angle vs. Wes Brisco & Garett Bischoff in a handicap match and one commercial.
