WWE has been in negotiations for a new domestic television deal, refusing to talk specifics during their quarter one conference call with investors earlier this month. Vince McMahon said at the time they would be announcing their new deal in the next several weeks.
It’s possible a new WWE domestic TV agreement could be announced as soon as this week at NBCUniversal Cable’s upfront. The network will hold their upfront at 4 PM on Thursday from the Javits Center in New York City.
While WWE had expected many suitors to bid on their programming, the overwhelming belief within the industry is that they will re-sign with NBCU barring something unseen. WWE’s goal in their new domestic TV agreement will be to significantly increase what they make in TV licensing fees.
