WWE RAW NEWS: Rusev captures U.S. Title on WWE Network, Vince McMahon returns, Orton gone from Authority?, no Cena, IC Title match, Xavier Woods re-packaged, Ambrose-Wyatt, more

WWE Raw TV news & notes 11/3

- Rusev captured the U.S. Title from Sheamus in a bonus match after Raw went off the air on the WWE Network.

The finish was Sheamus fading out to The Accolade, forcing the referee to stop the match. It was a full-length title match that pushed Raw to a three-hour-and-38-minute show this week.

- Vince McMahon made an unannounced return at the start of the show to set up The Authority's power on the line at Survivor Series. Authority's Triple H and Stephanie McMahon then appeared in nearly every segment of the show lining up their strategy for the PPV.

- Randy Orton was essentially kicked out of The Authority after Triple H gave the okay to "take him out" at the end of the show.

This followed Orton losing to Seth Rollins in the main event, Orton attacking Rollins after the match, and then Orton putting his hands on Hunter, who tried to calm him down. Hunter reluctantly called for his pupil to be taken out, but Stephanie emphatically wanted Orton destroyed.

- Top star John Cena did not appear on Raw. WWE did not explain to the TV audience why Cena was not on the show. This set up The Authority trying to convince Dolph Ziggler and other stars to be on their team at Survivor Series, as opposed to being on Team Cena.

- Dolph Ziggler retained the IC Title against Seth Rollins mid-way through the show. Orton sprung on Rollins with an RKO as Rollins was on the verge of victory, but no decision was rendered and Raw simply cut to break without an announced outcome.

- WWE introduced a vignette of Xavier Woods re-packaged as an eccentric soul dancer with his own gospel choir.

- Erick Rowan returned to TV awkwardly stroking Renee Young's hair in a backstage bit.

- Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt remain in neutral early in their TV feud. Ambrose beat Cesaro again, then Bray disappeared after coming out on-stage during the match.

- Announced for Friday's Smackdown: Goldust & Stardust vs. The Usos in a steel cage match for the WWE Tag Titles. There was no set-up for the cage match on Raw, as Stardust lost to Fernando of Los Matadores in a singles match.
