John Morrison, under his real name of John Hennigan, will be working
the 1/25 Dragon Gate USA iPPV show from Santa Maria, CA and Lakeview
Junior High. It’s a one shot deal for Hennigan who apparently wants to
do a singles match against a top Japanese wrestler. His opponent hasn’t
been named since they don’t gave it confirmed who is coming in that
weekend. Dragon Gate USA is doing a three night West Coast tour which
also has shows on 1/26 at night in Huntington Park, CA at the Pappy
Pineda Dome, a very small building that should be easily to fill, and
1/27 for an afternoon show in the same location. It will be the first
time I believe that Morrison will work with top names from Japan.
The Young Bucks are scheduled to be regulars going forward for both Dragon Gate USA and Evolve.
Yuji Nagata worked the 12/2 show in Nagoya, likely as part of a
payback for Masaaki Mochizuki working the New Japan tag team tournament.
Nagata & Mochizuki teamed in the main event with Cima & Dragon
Kid to beat The Jimmys (Jimmy Susumu & Jimmy Kagetora & Ryo
Saito & Genki Horiguchi) in the main event which sold out the 1,100
seat International Conference Hall.
Horiguchi & Saito & Kyukyu Toyonaka Dolphin retained the
Open the Triangle Gate titles beating BxB Hulk & Naoki Tanisaki
& Kzy when Horiguchi pinned Kzy after a backslide in 19:50.
Johnny Gargano retained the Open the Freedom Gate title on 12/8
in Voorhees, NJ, on the Evolve show beating Sami Callihan in what was
reported as great match on iPPV.
