UFC is in talks of extending Anderson Silva’s contract. What is notable
is that at 37, UFC offered him an eight-fight contract, and he turned
it down and counter proposed a ten-fight contract. One can always
retire, and UFC contracts do have provisions in case a guy loses that
they can get cut, but it does say something about Silva’s mindset when
it comes to retiring or slowing down right now if he wanted more than
eight fights on the deal. At last word, the new contract had not been
signed, but last week the UFC gave Silva a $174,000 Bentley as a gift.
