TNA impact on Wednesday, November 5 scored a 0.75 cable TV rating versus a 0.70 cable rating last week.
Impact drew 930,000 viewers, only slightly up from 911,000 viewers last Wednesday.
Last week, Impact was opposed by Game 7 of the World Series, which drew 23 million viewers. This week's broadcast TV competition was the CMAs on ABC, which drew 16 million viewers.
It appears Impact got back some of the older viewers outside of the m18-49 who would have watched the World Series, as all of Impact's key demographic ratings were down this week.
Specifically, males 18-34 dropped one-tenth of a rating to the lowest point on Wednesday nights, m18-49 declined for the third consecutive week, and Impact continues to lose younger viewers.
- On cable TV Wednesday night, Impact ranked #50 in overall viewers and #38 in males 18-34 & 18-49.
Impact's lead-in on Spike TV, "Cops," outscored Impact in all demos except m18-49, which slightly increased.
Caldwell's Analysis: It's unfortunate to see Impact become damaged goods playing out the string at the end of the year when the show has been simplified to a decent-to-good offering. But, the problem is the audience can really sense that TNA is playing out the string. It's just not a hip or happening place to be right now. That will be difficult to correct if they remain on TV in 2015 without a very strong re-branding or marketing approach.
