Bellator live coverage - King Mo debuts, Ben Askren defends and Ben Saunders in welterweight tourney


Welcome to our live coverage of Bellator MMA from the WinStar Casino in Thackerville, OK.

BEN SAUNDERS (14-5-2) VS. KOFFI AZDITSO (18-9) IN WELTERWEIGHT TOURNAMENT
First round: Saunders on his back had Azditso wrapped up but didn’t do a lot. Azditso missed a punch and Saunders took him down and now on top. Saunders working the body. Crowd deathly quiet. Saunders working punches and elbows to the body. The ref stood them up even though Saunders was working. Saudners with a knee to the jaw. Round ended. Saunders 10-9
Second round: High kick by Saunders. Saunders threw threw him down and landed hard shots on the ground. Saunders working the body. Saunders working the body and head. Ref Kerry Hatley ordered a stand up. Saunders was mystified about that one. It made no sense at all. Azditso throwing wild punches. Saunders working for a Kimura. Azditso got the takedown and Saunders working for a triangle, now an uma plata. Azditso got out of it. Saunders is to content to work off his back which isn’t good in a points tournament. Kerry Hatley ordered another stand up. Azditso working for a takedown. Saunders defending. Saunders scrambled to the top. Saunders with a knee and Azditso throwing punches. Round ending. Saunders round 20-18.
Third round: Saunders grabbed a clinch and threw knees. Azditso working for a takedown, but he ended up not getting it and Saunders on top. Saunders working ground and pound. Saunders landing a lot on the ground. Saunders landing more punches on the ground. Saunders with some body punches. Azditso got up. He tried aGerman suplex but Saunders blocked and basically sat on his face as he was thrown. Knee to the body by Saunders. The dead crowd is killing this one. Azditso tried a throw, Saunders blocked and landed on top in a mount. Saunders throwing punches from the top. Saunders pounding on him. Saunders was working for a submission when time ran out. 30-27 Saunders. Really can’t see any other score.
Scores: All three judges have it 30-27
DOUGLAS LIMA (22-5) VS. MICHAIL TSAREV (24-3) IN THE WELTERWEIGHT TOURNAMENT
First round: Tsarev tried a takedown. Lima defending well and punching while Tsarev pushing forward. Crowd dead for this one as well. Tsarev continues to push for a takedown unsuccessfully. Tsarev got it down but he’s on the bottom. Lima on top but nothing happening. Jason Herzog called for a stand-up. Lima threw a front kick. Little happened. Lima’s round 10-9.
Second round: Lima kicked the right leg and it took Tsarev off his feet. Lima kicking his leg and then told him to get up. Another hard kick to the leg. Tsarev is done now. Lima kicked his leg again and Tsarev went to is back. He can’t stand up and ref Jason Herzog is letting it go. I’m surprised about that. Another low kick by Lima. Another low kick and Tsarev’s leg gave out again. This should be stopped. Lima told him to get up. Herzog stopped it as he tried to get up and was limping.
PRZEMYSLAW MYSIALA (16-7) VS. KING MO LAWAL (8-1, 1 no contest), LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TOURNAMENT
First round: Mysiala landed a few punches and a kick that was blocked. Mysiala missing punches. Mo threw a punch after catching a kick. Mo knocked him backwards with a jab. Mysiala landed a few punches. Mysiala bleeding from the nose. Mo isn’t even thinking wrestling. Mo started to throw and hurt Mysiala. Left by Mo. Another jab by Mo. Another jab by Mo. Mo landed a right and dropped him with an uppercut and Mysiala is done.

BEN ASKREN (10-0) VS. KARL AMOUSSOU (16-4-2) FOR WELTERWEIGHT TITLE
First round: Amoussou out fast landing punches. Amossou threw a kick and got taken down. Askren threw an elbow from the top. Askren with body punches. Askren landing punches. Askren continuing to land punches and Amoussou throwing elbows off his back. Askren landing an elbow. Amoussou is cut over the left eye. Askren landing punches. Amossour working for an ambar but gave it up. Another couple of elbows by Askren. Askren with punches as well. Amoussou is pretty bloody. 10-9 Askren.
Second round: Amoussou landing punches and Askren landed a punch and a jab. Askren moved in for a takedown and didn’t get it and is on the bottom Amoussou is going for a heel hook. Askren got out and moved to the top. Askren back on top throwing a lot of punches. Amassou said he heard the ankle pop. Askren continuing to pound him. This is the best ground and pound Askren has ever shown. Amoussou’s face is a mess. Askren punching the body and the face. Askren continuing to pound on him. Askren got the mount. Askren is really pounding him out. Askren landing solid shots from the top and he’s bleeding everywhere. Amoussou’s left eye is swelling up badly. Askren is now killing him and it’s on the verge of being stopped. Askren teeing off with punch after punch. 10-8 Askren.
Third round: The doctor is checking his left eye. Jason Herzog told him that they are going to continue to look at the eye but they are letting him come out. Big right by Amussou. Askren got the takedown right away. Askren back to landing punches. Askren landing tons of punches from the top. Askren continues to land land punches. Akren now landing elbows. Askren pounding him some more. Askren thowing so many punches. Askren moved to full mount. Herzog is warning Amoussou as Askren is landing punch after punch. Another 10-8 round for Askren so 30-25.
Fourth round: The doctor is checking the left eye. The left eye is almost swollen completely shut. It looks like they are going to stop it. It’s over.
