ROMAN REIGNS RETURN UPDATE!

With Roman Reigns' appearance on Raw last night, the latest on his return from hernia surgery is that he's not expected back in the ring until late-December or early-January.

The interview made it clear that Reigns, who has been out a month following emergency surgery, will resume his storyline feud against Seth Rollins.

KILLING A CM PUNK - WWE RUMOR!

In regards to rumors that CM Punk has signed a new contract with WWE making the rounds, there's nothing to that story.

As I discussed in my PWInsider Elite audio this morning, the return of CM Punk merchandise (most of which has already sold out) to the WWE website was more a case of loose ends being tied up, according to one source we've spoken with.

When Punk's WWE deal expired this past July, with it went the rights to his name and likeness, since he had them since well before his WWE run began in 2006. WWE and Punk are believed to have worked out a settlement that allowed WWE to sell off remaining stock and use Punk in the new WWE videogame.

The Punk character will also be seen in the forthcoming WWE/Flintstones film, since animation had been completed well before Punk walked out on the company in January 2014.

Sources close to Punk state he is retired as a pro wrestler and a WWE return is not happening.

KURT ANGLE-TNA SPOILER!

Kurt Angle (who is in Hollywood this week working on acting endeavors) is believed to have signed a new part-time deal with TNA that will allow him to split time between pro wrestling and pursuing acting work.

I believe the announcement that Angle has signed a new deal is what Dixie Carter has been teasing on Twitter of late in terms of her big announcement.

Angle's deal expired in late September and there was communication with WWE, which was only interested in him if he was willing to commit to a full-time schedule - something Angle was not willing to do.

Raw opened with a video package highlighting the Hell in a Cell matches last night - John Cena beating Randy Orton to become #1 contender to the WWE World Title and Bray Wyatt costing Dean Ambrose his Cell match against Seth Rollins.

Live in the building, Raw opened with Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, and Kane already in the ring. Stephanie was "having fun" smiling it up for a reason to be announced. Steph hyped HIAC last night and claimed to have delivered more than people's money's worth of ... $9.99. Hunter said he will admit that it was a bittersweet night when Randy Orton lost to John Cena, but their man, Seth Rollins, is quickly becoming the standard-bearer for WWE.

Dramatic intro for Rollins, who limped out on-stage holding his MITB briefcase. Rollins was flanked by Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble on his way to the ring. Michael Cole noted Rollins beat Ambrose with help from an "eerie competitor," Bray Wyatt. JBL added that if not for Bray, Rollins probably would not have won last night.

In the ring, Steph asked for a stronger reception for Rollins, which generated more boos. "You sold out" chant for Rollins, who laughed it off. Rollins sarcastically thanked the crowd for their reception, then smiled and said that Dean Ambrose is finally out of his hair once and for all. "Ambrose is no longer a thorn in my side," Rollins boasted. Rollins said that madman should be institutionalized. Now that he's done with Ambrose, he sees the man who "soundly defeated" Randy Orton last night (John Cena). The crowd chanted Ambrose's name, but Rollins said he's done with that man and moving on to John Cena.

The crowd picked up a dueling chant for and against Cena, prompting everyone in the ring to wait it out. "Blah blah blah," Rollins said. Rollins said he's going to see John Cena later tonight and then leave him in a puddle of his own failure, just like Dean Ambrose last night. Rollins's music played, then The Authority (minus Orton) posed in the ring.

Cue up Orton's music interrupting the curtain call. Orton stomped - more like fast-walked like a crazyman - down to the ring as Hunter tried to keep everyone organized. Orton ran down Rollins, then had a little question. Well, more like a rant. Without taking a break. Orton said maybe he lost to Cena last night because of Rollins's finisher last week on Raw. He credited Seth for having one heck of a finisher, then said perhaps he'll check himself into anger management like in 2006. His next target was The Authority for not handling Rollins. Mid-sentence, Orton jumped across the ring and attacked Rollins, who laughed after Orton was pulled back.

Hunter tried to calm down Orton, who shouted back, "I'll calm down when he's dead!" Hunter told the crowd to shut up with their RKO chants, then Hunter told Orton to take the night off (boos from the crowd), get on the bus, get a drink, and let them handle this another night. Suddenly, Orton slipped past the defense and dropped Rollins with an RKO in the middle of the ring. Orton ran right out of the ring as Hunter sold being frustrated and angry standing in the ring. Stephanie got in Hunter's ear to offer her input, then Joey and Noble helped Rollins to his feet. Hunter wiped his mouth in frustration, then tried to stabilize Rollins, who stumbled out of the ring. Rollins was helped to the back as the announcers plugged Cena vs. Rollins in the main event tonight. Fortunately he has two hours and 45 minutes to recover.

[Q2] [Commercial Break at 8:15]

Back from break, Goldust and Cody Rhodes were doing their pre-match routine ahead of their title defense. Big Show's music then brought out Show by himself. The music changed to Mark Henry's theme to bring out Henry joining Show on-stage. Show was in a good mood tonight despite tapping out to Rusev last night at the PPV.

1 -- WWE tag champs RHODES BROS. (GOLDUST & "STARDUST" CODY RHODES) vs. BIG SHOW & MARK HENRY -- WWE Tag Title match

Henry tossed Goldust across the ring early on, so Goldust tagged in, only to take a frying pan-like chop from Big Show. Show and Henry worked over Cody in their corner, then Henry played into "Sexual Chocolate" chants by shaking his hips before butt-splashing Cody in the corner. Lots of fun from Show and Henry early on. But, Henry playfully took exception to Show slap-tagging him into the match. Henry then slap-tagged in and Show took exception. Commence argument heading to break.

[Commercial Break at 8:24]

Back from break, Goldust was working on Show, but Show responded with sideslam into a modified Indian Deathlock. But, Cody broke up the hold while Henry stood on the ring apron. Show then rolled over to his corner to tag in Henry. Henry delivered some offense, but Cody clipped Henry to take out his left knee. The tag champs began working on Henry while Show tried to rally with a "Sexual Chocolate" chant.

[Q3] Cody dropkicked Henry across the ring right into Big Show, who tagged in for Henry. Show cleaned house, then delivered a flying headbutt to Cody. Show wanted the KO Punch, and he connected on Cody. But, Goldust entered the ring, so Show discarded him. Show could have pinned Cody, but Henry entered the ring wanting his shine. Show turned to have a discussion, but Henry grabbed Show and delivered World's Strongest Slam. Henry then put Cody on top of Show for the pinfall.

Post-match, Henry paced the ring with a scowl on his face. Henry then shouted down at the tag champs, telling them to get the heck out of here. Henry then returned to face Show, who slowly got to his feet. Henry then lifted Show in the air for another World's Strongest Slam. Henry told Show that no one chops him. Henry wasn't done. He waited for Show to get up and he delivered a third WSS. Henry puffed out his chest, kicked Show, then delivered a giant splash to put an exclamation mark on his work.

"That's ... what I do!" Henry shouted on the way out. Henry then trash-talked fans on the way out as his music played. WWE reinforced the turn with replays of events during the match, then a look at Henry's multiple Slams after the match. WWE returned to a final shot of Henry yelling toward the ring that he's got more where that came from.

WINNERS: Rhodes Bros. at 11:06 to retain the Tag Titles. And there's the heel turn.

Up Next: Randomly, they're going to try another Roman Reigns exclusive interview.

Announcers: Cole, Lawler, and JBL were shown on-camera. Cole said they're going to get a health/injury update on Roman Reigns, but first a video package on Reigns. Cole called him "the juggernaut." Back live, Cole welcomed in Reigns appearing "via satellite." Reigns said he feels great, is getting stronger, and is tired of being on the sideline. "I'd do anything to be there in San Antonio," he said. Asked about Ambrose vs. Rollins last night, Reigns said he knew it would be carnage. He said Ambrose is his boy, while Rollins is a scumbag weasel. Reigns sent a direct message to Rollins that when he's medically cleared, he will make him the past. Zoom in on Reigns. "Believe that," he said.

[ JC's Reax: The presentation was better than the previous attempt at a sit-down interview with Reigns, but the character still comes across robotic leaning on a few canned lines to get a reaction. This is not his strength. ]

In-ring: Divas champion A.J. Lee was introduced to the ring for the next title match on the other side of the break.

[Q4] Back from break, Alicia Fox was in the ring. Paige, who lost to A.J. last night and then slapped Fox after the match, was ringside on commentary.

2 -- Divas champion A.J. LEE vs. ALICIA FOX -- Divas Title match

Paige said it's not her fault she didn't win the Divas Title last night. She blamed "her bestie," Fox, then claimed she didn't rough up Fox by slapping her after the match. She just had a bad day, that's all. In the ring, Fox started off in control of the match. A.J. fought back with elbow strikes, but Fox grabbed a headlock to wear down Lee. A.J. broke free with a lift-up DDT, though. A.J. then finished off Fox to retain.

Post-match, Paige sold being glad that Fox did not win the title, as she would rather win the title herself than see her "bestie" win. Fox took exception, so Paige smashed her, then smashed her out of the ring. On the outside, A.J. whipped Fox into the guardrail until refs came down to check on Fox.

WINNER: A.J. at 3:38 to retain the Divas Title. Two title matches, two sets of mid-card champions rendered afterthoughts to heels behaving badly.

Announcers: Cole and JBL talked on-camera about Roman Reigns wanting a piece of Seth Rollins when he is cleared to wrestle again. He noted Reigns accused Rollins of hiding behind other people, which set up a look at Rollins beating Ambrose last night after Bray Wyatt got involved.

John Cena Address

Back from break, John Cena's music played to bring out Brock Lesnar's next WWE World Title opponent. Cena did his standard ring entrance, then addressed the crowd. He noted the fans seem excited for some sort of championship banner (referring to the NBA World champ San Antonio Spurs)."Indeed, Go Spurs Go," Cena said to a pop. Cena said last night was also epic. He said it might not have been the last chapter in his feud with Randy Orton (silence), but it was one of the best.

[Q5 -- second hour] Cena said he and Orton went through hell to face the beast. Last night, he beat Randy Orton (some boos) and he has earned a title shot against Brock Lesnar. Now, while Lesnar is sitting at home thinking he's champion, he is here every night fighting like a champ. And, when Lesnar comes back to WWE, he will realize one thing - "He will lose!" Cena shouted. Cena vowed to make a statement every time he's out here until he faces Lesnar. Tonight, in the City of Champions, there will be a main event worthy of San Antonio.

Cena said The Authority's standard-bearer, Mr. Money in the Bank (boos), the self-proclaimed future of WWE (boos), Seth Rollins, gets a first-class wake-up call tonight. Stephanie McMahon's music interrupted to bring out Steph for a one-on-one chat with Cena.

In the ring, Stephanie congratulated Cena for his victory last night. She said she cannot wait for tonight's main event, but she also cannot wait for Survivor Series. She said there will be a traditional tag team elimination match (for the price of $9.99 on the Network). And, she has a business proposition for Cena. Steph said Cena works so hard to get these people to cheer him (referencing the Spurs reference). Steph said even she can get the crowd on her side. "it's so easy," she said. "You just tell them what they want to hear and they repeat it back." Cena cut her off and said he just listens to the crowd, something Stephanie doesn't do.

Steph asked Cena if he hears the "Cena Sucks" people out there? She said she's not trying to upset Cena, but talk him into doing what's best for business. Pause for "Cena, Cena" chants. Steph mocked the chants, saying it's one arena cheering for Cena and that's going to make up for years of them booing? Steph said the people don't matter, then said care about blood and guts and tearing each other apart. Why does Cena leave it out here every night? For their appreciation? He said Cena can join The Authority. "What?" Cena laughed. She said Cena could come to their side, where he would be loved and appreciated. "No!" shouts from the crowd.

Steph said Cena is going to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title - a man who beat Cena up time and time again, even left his carcass in the ring for these people's cheers. But, The Authority can offer some insurance, even guarantee a victory. Cena paced the ring not wanting to hear this. She suggested the winner of Cena vs. Rollins tonight is the captain of Team Authority. He can have the power, respect, accolades, and family he so desires.

Cena said all he deserves is a chance to come down the ring, step in the ring, and tell the people how much he loves doing this. Cena said these people come here to be part of Raw and WWE Live. He said they are not here for him, but he is here for them. And, she wants him to turn his back on them and join The Authority? "Yes," she said. Steph said it's Cena's chance to ensure his legacy and be remembered. Cena laughed, saying they'll remember him as a low-life, sell-out, punk. "So, here's your answer right now, hell no!" Cena shouted.

Triple H's music played next as Cena and Steph remained standing in the ring. "Told you," Hunter sneered. "Not going to make him crack, right? He's going to play the hero. We're all in this together. Argh. Yeah. Woo," Hunter mockingly said. Hunter said he's been here 20 years and it gets harder every single year. "You are starting to eke by every single night," Hunter told him. "You're hanging on by a thread. Physically. Mentally. Because you know what I know, John, that you can't fight the future."

Hunter said this business is about longevity. Not being a broke-down old guy coming down here for one last hurrah (Hulk Hogan mockery). Hunter said maybe this conversation will not convince Cena, but maybe he has to show Cena that he cannot stop the future. "Have it your way, John, work against The Authority," he said. Hunter told Cena to find someone to stand up with you to see if they can survive against The Authority. Because, at Survivor Series, it will be Team Authority against Team Cena. He said Cena cannot fight the future; the future will run through you, whether that is tonight or at Survivor Series. "We control the future," Hunter declared. "The Authority is the future!" Hunter closed, "You better smarten up that The Authority always wins." Cena looked down at the mat trying to sell the magnitude of the situation while Hunter told him to think about it.

THE NEWS: Brock Lesnar will not be defending the WWE Title at Survivor Series, setting up a main event of Team Cena vs. Team Authority.

[ JC's Reax: WWE has been down this path many, many times before with Cena being doubted and told it's time to step aside/move on, setting up the fanbase rallying behind Cena and Cena eventually overcoming the odds. Meanwhile, the Survivor Series verbiage was odd, as Hunter made it sound like Cena is only finding one tag partner to face The Authority. We'll see how this plays out, but with Orton out of the picture, The Authority is down to just Rollins and Kane. Unless they throw Noble and Mercury in the mix. Or find some heels who need something to do. ]

3 -- THE USOS (JIMMY & JEY USO) vs. THE MIZ & "STUNT DOUBLE" DAMIEN SANDOW

Back in the arena, the teams were already in the ring waiting for the bell on their comedown match. Usos cleared Miz to the floor early on, so Sandow dropped to the floor to sell Miz's fall with him. Both heels came to their feet, then Usos delivered a double splash on the outside. Usos in control heading to break.

[Commercial Break at 9:22]

Back from break, Miz was controlling Uso. Meanwhile, the announcers played up the idea of multiple wrestlers on Team Authority, clarifying that it won't just be a two-on-two match, as Hunter implied. Chaos broke out late in the match, allowing the Usos to pull twin magic and roll up Miz for a quick pin and the win. Afterward, Sandow joined Miz on the mat selling shock over the result.

WINNERS: Usos at 10:47. Dry comedown match re-re-re-inforcing Miz & Sandow's act.

[Q7] Backstage: John Cena was shown talking to Dolph Ziggler, apparently trying to get him on Team Cena. Cena and Ziggler shook hands, implying Ziggler was on-board.

Up Next: Hulk Hogan.

[Commercial Break at 9:31]

Backstage: Dolph Ziggler was shown walking down the hallway on his phone. Kane approached him and said there's a "report going around" that Ziggler was shown talking to John Cena. Why doesn't Kane just watch the show? Kane said he considers that an act of aggression and he would like to make that certain Superstar squeal in pain. He said he'll see Dolph in the ring. Dolph sold dejection like a kid called out by the vice principal instead of putting on a brave face ready to fight.

Hulk Hogan Appearance

Hulk Hogan was introduced to the ring for a promo. Hogan opened by saying he can't believe how happy he was to see John Cena win at Hell in a Cell and beat that "no good Randy Orton." Now, he can't wait to see Cena beat Brock Lesnar to win back the WWE Title.

Hogan then got down to his business of recognizing breast cancer survivors in the arena. He said the month of October is winding down, but the fight keeps rolling on day after day. Hogan called these women the real Superstars and real inspiration for all of them. He asked for the breast cancer survivors in the crowd to stand up and be recognized. Hogan closed with his usual sign-off line, then welcomed the breast cancer survivors into the ring. Cole, Lawler, and JBL were shown standing up before WWE went to Hogan doing the posedown routine with the survivors.

Backstage: Bo Dallas/Washington was shown walking down the hallway. Bo has an open challenge next.

[Q8] Back live, Bo Dallas was introduced to the ring for the next match. Bo was introduced as Bo Dallas one night after changing his name to Bo Washington. Cole noted the name-change last night. In the ring, Bo said it's time to find out who Bo-Lieves ... they can beat him. Bo smiled, paused, and waited. It was Ryback. "Feed Me More" blared in the arena as Ryback returned from injury marching down to the ring looking like Goldberg.

4 -- BO DALLAS/WASHINGTON vs. RYBACK

"Feed Me More" chants from the crowd once the bell sounded. Ryback measured a scared-looking Bo, who tried charging Ryback, but ate the mat after being thrown into the air. Spinebuster, then Ryback pounded his chest. Ryback did the "Feed Me More" shoulder shrug that the crowd joined in on before delivering a Meathook Clothesline. Ryback finished off Bo with Shell-shock for the pin and the win.

WINNER: Ryback at 1:13. All babyface presentation for Ryback, complete with reminding everyone of his offense and rituals.

Announcers: Cole, Lawler, and JBL reset the show before bringing up Roman Reigns saying he's focused on Seth Rollins when he returns to WWE. Cole then flashed back to last night when Rollins beat Dean Ambrose thanks to an appearance from Bray Wyatt.

Backstage: Dean Ambrose was shown pacing around like a crazy-man. He's up next in the Halftime segment.

Tomorrow Night: Miz TV with Mark Henry as his guest on Main Event.

In-ring: Cesaro was introduced to the ring for the next match. WWE cut to Cole and Co., who broke down events on the show before showing footage in the opening segment when Randy Orton snapped on stablemate Seth Rollins. Back live, Dean Ambrose limped out to the ring while still in a crazy mode from last night. WWE cut to a video package on Ambrose vs. Rollins from last night, emphasizing Bray Wyatt preventing Ambrose from beating Rollins.

Back live, Ambrose was standing on the announce table. Ambrose said he dragged Seth Rollins down with him and beat him with an inch of his life, but when he got to the bottom of hell, he found Bray Wyatt. Ambrose said he doesn't know how or why Bray did what he did, but he doesn't care. Ambrose shouted, "You don't screw with Dean Ambrose!"

[Q9 -- third hour] Ambrose jumped off the announce table and ran into the ring to attack Cesaro with his mic. Ambrose chased Cesaro out of the ring and tackled him to the floor. Ambrose continued to punish Cesaro with the mic before bashing him up the entrance ramp to the stage. Ref John Cone checked on Cesaro, then Ambrose called out to Bray Wyatt on the mic. He told Bray to come out here so he can kick his ass.

5 -- DEAN AMBROSE vs. CESARO -- NO MATCH

Bray Wyatt suddenly appeared on the video screen. Bray said he understands where Ambrose is coming from. He said he looks at Bray and sees his own deranged reflection. Bray said they come from a tortured place and live in a world that was not made for them. Bray said he is not Dean's brother or friend, but he knows him. "I am you," he said. "I'm going to dismantle your mind." Bray told Dean to run before the video ended. Apparently Dean disappeared during the promo, as they did not go back to Ambrose.

Still left to be explained is how any of that matches up with why Bray interrupted Ambrose vs. Rollins last night and cost Dean the match.

In-ring: Nikki Bella's music played to bring out Nikki flanked by her one-month "personal assistant," Brie Bella. Brie tried to walk in front of Nikki to get her shine, but Nikki called her back to stand behind her. Brie held the ropes open for Nikki before WWE replayed events from their match last night that Nikki won.

5 -- NIKKI BELLA (w/Brie Bella) vs. NAOMI

Naomi was in the ring back from break. Cue the opening bell. Nikki dominated and took her time gloating about it while Brie stood disapproving away from the ring. Nikki pointed down at Brie, who noted she's not doing anything, allowing Naomi to hot-shot Nikki across the middle rope. The match spilled to the floor, then Brie reluctantly touched Naomi's foot on the way back in. The slight distraction allowed Nikki to beat Naomi with her torture rack finisher as Brie turned her back to the ring, upset with herself.

WINNER: Nikki at 4:16. Is this how they get to Nikki winning the Divas Title?

[Q10] [Commercial Break at 10:15]

Back from break, Kane was introduced for the next match. IC champion Dolph Ziggler was out next as Cole hyped the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia in January.

6 -- IC champion DOLPH ZIGGLER vs. KANE -- non-title match

Kane dominated early on as the announcers talked about anyone who talks to John Cena being forced to experience punishment. WWE booked Ziggler to cower down to Kane backstage, so his character already beat himself before he ever stepped onto the field, making him unsympathetic selling for the first three minutes. Ziggler responded with a dropkick that sent Kane flying out of the ring heading to break.

[Commercial Break at 10:24]

Back from break, Ziggler blocked an attempted power move by Kane with a face-buster. Ziggler wanted a corner move, but Kane smashed him with a mid-air uppercut. Kane took advantage of the uppercut with sustained offense wearing down the champ.

[Q11] Kane continued the attack in front of a quiet crowd as the announcers sounded like a USA Network show talking about corporate this and that. Ziggler struck Kane in the face, then corner-mounted him for ten rapid-fire punches. Ziggler followed with a neckbreaker, then tried to fire up the crowd. But, Kane responded with a sidewalk slam for a two count.

At 12:00, Kane teased the chokeslam, but Ziggler blocked. Ziggler then ducked a big boot and hit a superkick. But, Zig-Zag failed and Kane big-booted Dolph for a two count. Kane wanted a chokeslam, but Ziggler countered again, slid down Kane's back, rolled him to the mat, and scored a three count.

WINNER: Ziggler at 13:25. Basic match trying to reinforce the idea of scaring people off from being on John Cena's team. Ziggler did the best he could with the material after being presented as a weak babyface in the pre-match set-up. And, hey, he won a match on TV.

Post-match, Ziggler scampered out of the ring to recover while Kane sold anger in the ring, but Seth Rollins blasted Ziggler from behind. Rollins and Kane then put the boots to Ziggler in the ring, then John Cena's music played. Cena stormed the ring, which sent Rollins packing, but Kane stuck around to take a clothesline from Cena. Cena checked on Ziggler while Rollins stood atop the entrance ramp with Mercury and Noble. Cole said Cena vs. Rollins is next on Raw.

Smackdown plug: Halloween special this Friday from Houston. JBL vowed to come dressed s himself. They advertised a 12-Divas Halloween costume battle royal. Not [pictured was Divas champion A.J. Lee.

In-ring: John Cena was still standing in the ring waiting for the main event. WWE cut to a video game simulation of Cena vs. Brock Lesnar in WWE 2K15 before Seth Rollins's music played to formally introduce Rollins as Cena's opponent tonight. Before the bell sounded, Rollins revealed taped ribs from his HIAC match last night against Dean Ambrose. Rollins was also supposedly selling the effects of an RKO from Randy Orton in the opening segment tonight.

7 -- JOHN CENA vs. MR. MITB SETH ROLLINS (w/Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble)

Once the bell sounded, Rollins ducked out of the ring to consult with his hired help, drawing boos. Rollins returned to the ring and tentatively locked up with Cena, who knocked him out of the ring. Back inside the ring, Cena delivered more offense.

[Q12] Rollins again rolled out of the ring, drawing Cena to the floor this time. Cena punched Rollins right in front of a big Stone Cold cut-out held by a fan, but Rollins cut off Cena on the outside. Rollins then rolled Cena back into the ring. Behind the ref's back, Mercury punched Cena in the face, but Rollins only scored a two count on the follow-up pin.

Rollins then chucked Cena to the outside, allowing Mercury and Noble to put the boots to Cena behind referee Charles Robinson's back. Rollins took advantage of the attack to keep working on Cena heading to break.

[Commercial Break at 10:50]

Back from break, the match was on the floor, where Rollins whipped Cena into the ring steps. Rollins returned to the ring to try to get a count-out victory, but Cena rolled back into the ring in time. Rollins then slowed the match down working on Cena with a headlock. Cena escaped, but Rollins maintained control with a snap DDT.

Rollins went back to a headlock and leg scissors combination to continue wearing down Cena. Cena tried to fight back, but Rollins cut him off with a dropkick. Cena rolled to the outside and recovered, nearly getting himself counted out. But, Cena rolled back into the ring just before a ten count as they hit the top of the hour.

[Q13 -- over-run] Cena caught his breath and made his comeback with a Five Knuckle Shuffle before dumping Rollins over the top rope onto the henchmen. Cena left the ring, retrieved Rollins, and threw him back into the ring, but could not follow up. Rollins then charged Cena in the corner, but Cena smashed him with boots to the gut. Cena wanted the AA, but Rollins fell out and kicked Cena in the gut. Rollins followed with a facebuster for a close two count. He tried the Curb Stomp, but Cena trapped Rollins and put him int he STF. Cena looked toward the back, giving away interference. It came from Kane, who hit the ring with boots to Cena, causing a DQ.

WINNER: Cena via DQ at 22:13. Surprise, a DQ finish to a Raw TV main event. No Rusev providing the interference to perhaps add a heel to The Authority's team at Survivor Series, so he was completely kept off the show and they're delaying the start of a Cena vs. Rusev program.

Post-match, Dolph Ziggler stormed the ring to help Cena fight Rollins and Kane. But, Mercury and Noble hit the ring. Suddenly, the locker room - heels and faces - stormed the ring to start a giant brawl. Are they hyping the Rumble or Survivor Series? Rollins weaseled his way to the stage as heels and faces fought in the ring. Chaos. Triple H and Stephanie then came out on-stage to survey the carnage. Heath Slater found himself in the ring, so Cena gave him an AA. Same fate to Bo Dallas. Cena stood tall in the ring while Hunter, Steph, Rollins, Joey, and Noble stood on the stage. Cole wondered who's going to team with Cena and stand up to The Authority at Survivor Series as Raw signed off with back-and-forth shots of Cena alone in the ring and The Authority on-stage.

FINAL THOUGHT: So, what was the ending all about? Apparently the idea was The Authority will send everyone after Cena and/or Ziggler to discourage them from facing Authority at Survivor Series ... but there were faces and heels mixed in there. just odd. Just like at Hell in a Cell, the second-half of the show petered out after a decent-to-strong start. WWE just can't sustain a three-hour show with this roster, which was evident looking at the wrestlers available for a Royal Rumble lead-in brawl in the closing segment.

WWE HELL IN A CELL COMPLETE COVERAGE: AMBROSE VS. ROLLINS, RETURNING STAR MAKES A BIG STATEMENT, NEW TOP CONTENDER FOR BROCK & MORE

Kickoff
They have a Hell in A Cell logo hanging above the ring with the Cell itself.
The Kickoff show opened with Renee Young introducing the pre-show panel of Booker T, Alex Riley and Paul Heyman, who said his client Brock Lesnar was watching with great interest. Heyman refused to play along with the $9.99 plugs.
They discussed the double main event of Hell in A Cell matches. Paul Heyman said Randy Orton and John Cena were fighting to see who would be fed next to Brock Lesnar.
They aired a video feature on Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins. Alex Riley ran down the "keys to victory" for each competitor, analyzing each competitor, their strengths and potential strategies. They discussed the Dean vs. Seth rivalry.
They aired a video piece on Randy Orton vs. John Cena, presenting them as one of the greatest rivalries ever, not just in pro wrestling but sports.
Booker T said bragging rights are on the line as well as the top contender position for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. Booker said that Randy Orton has always been his guy and his DNA reads champion, but Cena is going old school. Riley said that Cena has more on the line tonight then Orton does because Cena wants to get his 16th World title to "tie" Ric Flair. Heyman was asked who he would prefer to see Brock defend the title against. Heyman said it's not about who he personally prefers. He said it's a match that can be determined as a winner's nightmare. He said they one man will emerge dominant after ten years and will have bragging rights over the other, but they are stepping out of the Cell to one day enter the match that is even more dangerous - a match against Brock Lesnar. He said one of them tonight will have their final moment of glory, because their next opportunity will be against Lesnar, and they will lose.
They promoted that Mizdow TV will have its debut appearance tonight.
The Miz and Damien Mizdow came to the ring for MizdowTV. Miz said that he was letting Mizdow host out of the kindness of his heart. Mizdow said it was the greatest moment of his career, and introduced Miz as his guest. Miz began feeding him questions. Miz said he’s beaten Sheamus so many times, it’s second nature. As Miz was answering, Mizdow was mimicking him. Miz said that he feels sorry for the fans because tonight will feel like a rerun but lucky for them, it’s starring him. Mizdow pointed out he technically pinned Sheamus on Raw, which Miz wasn’t happy about. Mizdow explained that since Miz is his inspiration and he works for him, Miz technically won. Miz promised to win the U.S. title tonight at the PPV. Mizdow began putting over all of Miz’s accomplishments as a wrestler and cross-over star in films. He told Miz that he was the best friend he’s ever had. Miz told Damien he was touched and appreciated his words. He said he was generous enough to give them back, saying he was a damn good stunt double and one that he’s truly proud to call his friend. They embraced.
Sheamus appeared on the screen. He said that if Mizdow is truly the friend he claims to be, he should ask him to get down on his knees and kiss Miz’s a** goodbye. They discussed the WWE Tag Team championship bout, using the brothers teaming with each other against another pair of brothers as the theme of the discussion. They then discussed the bout between The Bellas tonight and showed footage of what went down between them on Smackdown.
They then discussed the IC and the Rusev vs. Big Show bouts. They aired a video feature on Show vs. Rusev.
They went to Michael Cole and JBL at ringside for a special “bonus” match.
Mark Henry vs. Bo Dallas
Bo Dallas did his usual good mic work, saying he was re-naming himself Bo Washington tonight as a way to knock the Dallas Cowboys.
Henry attacked Dallas and worked him over, tossing him all over the ring and nailing an Avalanche in the corner. He nailed the World’s Strongest Slam and pinned him.

More Massacre than match!
Dallas, beat up on the floor, told Henry that Henry cheated so Bo is 5-0 against Mark, because he Bo-lieves. Henry tossed him into the railing.
Backstage, Byron Saxton interviewed Paige and Alicia Fox. Paige said that AJ ripped her heart out but luckily she had Foxy to help her. She said she was going to take AJ's best friend, the Divas championship. Fox was great being her crazy self.
The Pre-Game Show closed off with the great “By the Numbers” video on the Cell.
WWE HELL IN A CELL PPV
They had the usual very good video promoting the top matches.
WWE Intercontinental champ Dolph Ziggler vs. Cesaro: Best of Three Falls
They immediately began grappling on the mat, going back and forth with reversals. Ziggler was backed into the ropes and Cesaro broke clean. They faced off and jawed. Ziggler was caught in a Fireman’s Carry but slipped out. They went back and forth with some really nice wrestling before Cesaro caught the champion in a side headlock. They had a nice series of near falls. Ziggler hit a leaping clothesline in the corner but was shoved off when he went for a neckbreaker. Cesaro went for the Big Swing but Ziggler rolled him up for a two count. Cesaro caught him and brought back the Swing for the first time in forever for a two count. Ziggler caught him with an inside cradle after the kickup and scored the three count. Nice finish.
The winner of the first fall, Dolph Ziggler!
Cesaro immediately attacked Ziggler and laid him out before the second fall could begin. Ziggler took time recovering and was obviously woozy in the corner. Cesaro killed him with a running forearm in the corner for a two count. Cesaro walked the middle rope and went for an elbow but missed.
Ziggler fought back but was cut off with a big right hand. Cesaro locked him in a straightjacket clutch but Ziggler fought his way to his feet and nailed a series of rights. Ziggler nailed a big elbow but was caught with a slam. Cesaro acted as if his arm was bothering him but nailed a double stomp for a two count. Cesaro nailed a powerbomb for another two count.
Ziggler snapped the arm over the ropes and locked on a cobra clutch variation as a submission attempt. Cesaro was able to turn it around into a suplex attempt but Ziggler kneed him and turned it into a yet another submission attempt. Cesaro drilled Ziggler into the corner several times then climbed the ropes while Ziggler was still cinched in. In an incredible show of strength, Cesaro turned it into a superplex off the middle turnbuckle in one sweeping motion, scoring a two count. The Dallas crowd chanted, “This is awesome.”
Ziggler sent Cesaro into the corner and nailed the Famouser but only scored a two count. They went back and forth with some great moves. Cesaro used a series of strikes to the back of the neck after tossing him into the air for European uppercut for a near fall, showing frustration. Cesaro nailed a backbreaker for a two count. He went for the Neutralizer but Zigger kicked out and snapped his arm, nailed a superkick and a Zig Zag for the pin.
Your winner and still WWE Intercontinental champion, Dolph Ziggler!
Really, really fun opener with some great athletic exchanges and fun near falls. They really left it all in the ring. Ziggler adding so many submissions really added to his in-ring persona and Cesaro, even in losing, looked like a beast. Great stuff.
Loser Must Be Winner’s Personal Assistant: Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella
They locked up with Niki grabbing at Brie’s hair to get the upper hand. Brie slapped him and rolled her up for a one count. Brie used a backslide for a two count. They fought back and forth. Nikki nailed the Electric Chair on her suster and began beating her head into the mat for a two count. She locked in a side headlock and continued working over Brie.
Nikki continued working over her sister until Brie nailed her with a kick to the gut and tossed her across the ring by the hair. Brie nailed a leaping clothesline and a dropkick. She nailed a running knee to the face on her sister and went for another but Nikki went to the floor. Brie hit a tope suicide to the outside. I didn’t expect that one.
Brie hit a great missile dropkick for a two count. Nikki cut her off and nailed Shock Treatment for a two count. Nikki went to grab her but was caught and turned into the Yes Lock. Nikki almost immediately got her leg into the ropes. Nikki drilled her sister with a big right forearm as Brie approached.
Nikki nailed Shock Treatment again and scored the pin.
Your winner, Nikki Bella!
Brie must now be her “Personal Assistant” for the next 30 days.
OK match. Brie Bella worked extremely hard here and showed some nice athletic moves and fire as a babyface. Nikki tried really hard to be the aggressive heel here.

 Back at the assembled Hell in A Cell panel, they discussed the results of the Bellas’ bout. Booker T said we just say the “Shucky Ducky Quack Quack” moment of the night. Alex Riley said that Cesaro vs. Ziggler was one of the best matches of the year. Paul Heyman said they need to discuss Orton vs. Cena because the winner becomes a 250 lb. slab of meat to be fed to Brock Lesnar.
WWE Tag Team champions Goldust & Stardust vs. The Usos
Some nice back and forth work early on. Stardust worked on Jey Uso’s leg, slamming it into the ringpost. The champions took turns working over Jey. He fired away with chops on Goldust but was cut off and locked in a side chinlock. The champions continued working over Jey. Stardust choked him against the ropes.
Jey finally fought his way out of an attempted bulldog and tagged Jimmy. Jimmy hit a dive to the outside on Goldust. Stardust was tossed to the outside and hit with a dive as well. He went to the top and nailed a flying bodypress for a two count. He nailed a Samoan Drop for another two count.
Goldust was hit with a splash in the corner and then nailed with the running back splash for a two count. Jimmy set up for a superkick but his leg was caught and he was spun towards Stardust, who was kicked off the apron. Goldust caught him with a spinebuster for a two count. Goldust wailed away with a series of chops in the corner but was caught with an elbow off the ropes and a superkick for another two count.
The Usos nailed stereo superplexes. They kept going back and forth until Stardust nailed CrossRhodes and scored the pin.

Another good match. Lots of good tag team work here.
HELL IN A CELL: Randy Orton vs. John Cena
Kudos to WWE for actually reading the room and putting Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose on last. I’ll have a lot more about this on the Post-Game Show for Elite subscribers (sub now at www.PWInsiderElite.com!) but this was the right call in my mind.
The winner gets a future WWE World Heavyweight championship match against Brock Lesnar.
The back and forth chanting started the second they rang the bell. Cena and Orton began slugging it out immediately, going back and forth. They fought outside to the floor, where Orton controlled the action. He tried to run Cena into the cage but Cena blocked it. Orton nailed him and sent him into the cage, then tossed Cena back into the ring for a two count.
Orton went under the ring and brought a steel chair into the ring. He went to nail Cena with it but was kicked in the gut and nailed with a fisherman’s suplex. Cena went to use the chair but Orton cut him off and nailed a series of stomps and headbutts. Orton grabbed the chair and drilled Cena in the chest with it, then beat him over the back for a two count.
Cena tried to surprise Orton with an AA but Orton slipped out and nailed a DDT for a two count. Orton drilled Cena into the ringsteps and ripped Cena’s face into the cage. He continued to work over Cena but began showboating, allowing Cena to drill him with a clothesline for a two count. Orton cut him off with a clothesline in the corner and followed up with another. Orton scored yet another two count.
Orton sent Cena into the Cell again on the floor, then brought Cena back inside the ring. He covered John again but Cena kicked up before three. He cinched in a side chinlock but John fought his way to his feet. Cena made a comeback with a series of shoulderblocks and The Blue Thunder Bomb. He went for the Five Knuckle Shuffle but Orton stunned him with a shot to the chest and caught him with a snap powerslam for a two count.
Cena made a comeback and rammed Orton, back-first, into the Cell several times on the floor. Orton cut off Cena and rammed him into the ringpost, with Cena’s nether-regions taking the brunt of the shot. Orton then hit his backbreaker variation on the floor. Cena was muscled back into the ring. Cena barely kicked out and rolled out to the apron, pulling himself up on the outside of the ropes. Orton drilled him, launching Cena off the apron into the cage. The crowd chanted, “RKO.”
Orton went to whip Cena into the cage but Cena reversed it and sent Orton into the cage several times on the floor. Cena pulled a table out from under the ring. Orton nailed a standing dropkick to cut off Cena’s momentum and covered him for a two count. Orton sent him into the corner where a chair was wedged and Cena went down hard. Orton covered him for another two count.
Orton set up the table in the corner and tried to send Cena into it but Cena escaped and nailed a shoulderblock. Cena charged but was caught with an RKO out of nowhere for a two count. Orton sent Cena into the table, smashing it, and covered Cena for another two count.
Orton brought in the ring steps and teased nailing the RKO on the stairs. He went for it but Cena slipped out and nailed the Blue Thunder Bomb on the steps, then hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle on them. He went for an AA on the steps but Orton slipped out and nailed a low blow, which was legal since it’s a Cell match. Cena kicked out.
Orton went for the punt but Cena avoided it and locked on the STF. Orton fought his way to the ropes and finally made it, but since they are inside the Cell, it doesn’t force a break. Orton finally pulled himself to the floor to force it. Cena grabbed the ring steps and tossed them at Orton on the floor but Orton moved out of the way. Cena chased Orton on the floor but was sent into the ringpost.
Back in the ring, Cena shocked Orton with an Attitude Adjustment and scored a two count. Good match. They go back and forth with Orton scoring several two counts, including Orton nailing a RKO out of a Cena press-powerslam attempt. Cena nailed another AA for a two count.
Cena brought another table into the ring. Cena went to the top but Orton cut him off. The fans chanted “RKO.” Orton planned to nail an RKO off the ropes but Cena pulled him into an AA off the ropes through a table and scored the pin.
Your winner, John Cena!
Cena will soon face WWE World Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.
Really good match and a nice story with Orton controlling the early portion and a ton of near falls and really good brawling. This was really great stuff from each competitor. This was their best encounter against the other in as long as I can recall off the top of my head.

 ready. Show said he was going to knock out Rusev for his country, for himself and for Mark. Henry was silent. Show told Henry that when he was done, they were going to Salisbury, Texas on his bus for some BBQ.
WWE United States champion Sheamus vs. The Miz (with Damien Mizdow)
Miz went right after Sheamus but was tossed over the top to the apron for the shots across the chest. Miz avoided but was caught with an over the shoulder backbreaker inside the ring. Miz came back with a series of kicks but was picked up and dropped across the ropes. He went to the apron where he was nailed with clubbing shots across the chest. On the floor, Mizdow reacted to each shot like he was the one being nailed.
Sheamus went for Miz but was kicked off. The champ avoided Mizdow and then ducked a clothesline. Miz nailed his stunt double. Miz was almost tossed into the announcer’s table but was instead tossed into the ring. He cut off Sheamus with a kick as he returned to the ring and worked him over, locking in a side chinlock. Sheamus tried to escape with a belly to back suplex but Miz landed on his feet. Sheamus wiped him out with a series of clotheslines but was sent up and over to the floor as he charged the challenger.
Miz tried to dive off the apron but was caught on Sheamus’ shoulders and hit with a roling Samoan Drop on the floor. Sheamus controlled him in the ring, scoring a two count with The Irish Curse. Miz made a comeback and attempted the Skull Crushing Finale but Sheamus countered. Miz went for the figure four but that failed as well.
Sheamus called for the Brogue Kick but Mizdow got on the apron and tried to call for a “cut.” Miz rolled up Sheamus, who reversed it. Miz kicked up and tried to roll up Sheamus, who kicked up at the last second. Miz went to the top but was nailed with the Brogue Kick as he came off the ropes and pinned.
Your winner and still WWE United States champion, Sheamus!
They did some comedy after where Sheamus moved Miz’s body and Mizdow mimicked it Sheamus made Miz do the “YMCA” and finally nailed him with another Brogue Kick. Pretty silly but the crowd loved it.
Solid match. Mizdow’s stuff at ringside is great. Match itself was OK.
Backstage, Brie Bella was putting stuff in a car. Nikki Bella was all over her about making restaurant reservations. Brie gave her a smoothie that Nikki had requested. Nikki ran down all the ingredients she had requested and Brie confirmed they were in there. Nikki said that was good and poured it all over her sister’s head. She said this one was for Brie, then ordered her to make another the same way and bring it to her hotel. Nikki drove off, leaving Brie to stand there furious. JBL noted she had 29 days to go,
Big Show vs. Rusev (with Lana)
Show went right after Rusev but Rusev drilled him when Show went for a chop in the corner. Rusev went after Show’s knee, including a shoulderblock to it. He began working on Show’s leg and cinched in a leglock. Show used his other leg to kick Rusev across the chest. Rusev cut off Show, suplexed him with ease and went back to work on the leg.
Show finally kicked off Rusev. Rusev came back with a big dropkick to Show’s chest. He gets awesome height on that dropkick. Rusev set up for The Accolade but Show slipped out, grapevined Rusev’s legs and turned Rusev upside down into a submission hold. Rusev got to the ropes.
Show went for the KO but Rusev ducked. Rusev went for a move but was shoulderblocked down and run into the corner. Show speared Rusev, which looked damn impressive.
Mark Henry made his way to the ring. Show called for the chokeslam. Show went for it but Rusev broke free and worked over Show. He went for a move and rebounded off the ropes. Show caught him with the chokeslam but Rusev kicked out at two. Rusev went to the floor and was out there in front of Henry. Show went to the floor and picked up Rusev. He rolled Rusev back in the ring and as he returned to the ring, Henry stopped him to psych him up.
That distraction allowed Rusev enough time to recover and he kicked Show as he returned to the ring. Henry got on the apron but Rusev kicked him off. Rusev drilled Show again and locked on The Accolade. The crowd chanted, “USA.” Show finally submitted.
Your winner, Rusev!
Rusev celebrated with the Russian flag unfurling behind him and Lana.
This was OK in the ring but as a story, was about as perfect as it could have been as a way to build Rusev as he continues to ride towards main events.
Backstage, Dean Ambrose said Halloween is this Friday and the most popular costume will be Seth Rollins, because when they are done tonight, Rollins will look like a zombie from the Walking Dead and Dracula had a baby or something. It was pretty funny. He said they were going to Hell tonight. Usual good promo.
WWE Divas champion AJ Lee vs. Paige (with Alicia Fox)
Paige controlled early until Lee caught her with a nice clothesline. Paige cut her off and sent Lee into the ropes, only to be caught with a twisting head scissors. Lee nailed a spinkick as Paige rebounded off the ropes. The British star went to the floor to regroup but Lee attacked her and sent her into the apron.
Alicia Fox and AJ started brawling on the floor. Paige grabbed AJ and swung her head-first into the ringside barricade several times. Paige tossed the champion back in the ring and began drilling her with headbutts. Paige sent Lee into the corner and worked her over. Paige locked on a surfboard variation.
AJ came back and nailed a tornado DDT off the ropes for a two count. Paige kicked her in the gut but was caught in a guillotine choke. Paige broke it and turned it into a Fallaway Slam but not until after skipping around the ring to mock Lee. Lee went to the floor, where she was run into the barricade.
Paige went atop the barricade but Lee nailed her and Paige hit the top of it backwards before crashing to the floor. She was almost counted out but Fox tossed Paige, still woozy, into the ring to save the match. Lee locked in the Black Widows and scored the submission. .
Your winner and still Divas champion, AJ Lee!
Paige nailed Fox after the match and left her in the ring. Paige yelled at Fox that she hates her.
OK match. They did about as much as they could with the time they had.


HELL IN A CELL: Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins (with Mercury & Noble)
Ambrose came out first, tossed a bunch of chairs into the ring and then ascended to the top with a Singapore Cane. The crowd loved all this. Rollins refused to play into Ambrose’s hands and went right into the ring. Rollins finally said that if Ambrose wanted to start up there, he would go up there as well. Noble and Mercury tried to change his mind but Rollins said he tells them what to do. He started climbing up, then stopped and went back down and ordered Mercury and Noble to go up and get Ambrose. He said they work for him, which is probably news to WWE.
Mercury and Noble climbed up opposite sides of the Cell. Ambrose caned them down on top of the Cell and unloaded on them. Rollins scrambled up and attacked Ambrose and they began brawling in top of the cell. Mercury and Noble held Ambrose down as Rollins caned him over and over. The henchmen worked over Dean as Rollins tossed the cane down to the floor below.
Rollins told them to toss Ambrose off the top to the floor but Dean broke free and nailed Noble with Dirty Deeds on the top of the cage. He wiped out Mercury and went after Rollins, who tried to scale down. Ambrose followed and they scaled down the same side at the same time. Ambrose caught him halfway down and they battled, slamming each other’s heads into the cage. They both fell off the side of the Cell, crashing through both announcing tables at the same time.
The officials checked on both men and called for stretchers. Rollins was placed on a backboard and put on one of the stretchers. They kept replaying the falls from every camera angle possible, promoting it as this insane fall. Michael Cole made sure to note the match never officially started. They started rolling Rollins out. They began rolling Ambrose out. The crowd chanted his name, which energized him and he broke free from his stretcher.
Ambrose chased Rollins’ stretcher and knocked him off of it. He ran Rollins all the way down the aisle and back to the Cell, running him into it, then tossed Seth into the ring. Dean slammed the cage door into Rollin’ face as he tried to escape and demanded WWE lock the Cell. They did and the match finally, officially, began.
Ambrose began going through a gym bag he brought out and pulled out some potential weapons, then tossed them aside to grab a chair. He told Rollins, “You stabbed me in the back you son of a bitch” and began beating him with a chair over and over. He grabbed a screwdriver and went to use it but Rollins blocked it. Ambrose dropkicked Rollins hard off the apron and into the cage.
Ambrose went under the ring and set up a table standing on it’s side against the Cell on the floor. He tried to send Rollins into it but Seth escaped. Ambrose followed him into the ring and clotheslined Seth back to the floor. Ambrose hit a dive to the outside. Ambrose began piling up the chairs in one place. He grabbed Rollins by the nose and tried to suplex him onto the pile. Rollins avoided it and nailed a belly to back suplex across the chairs.
Rollins bridged a table off the apron to the Cell and tried to suplex Dean out of the ring to the floor. Ambrose fought him off and set up Rollins on the table. He hit a nice elbow off the apron putting Seth through the table in an awesome looking spot. Rollins;’ face was raked back and forth across the Cell but Kane, who had come down to ringside at some point, sprayed a fire extinguisher through the Cell into Dean’s face, “blinding him.” That allowed Rollins to send Ambrose through the table that was set up on the floor against the Cell.
Rollins nailed the Curb Stomp but Dean kicked up at the last second. Rollins grabbed the Money in the Bank briefcase and a chair. He began beating the hell out of with Ambrose with the chair before throwing it out of the ring. Some stiff physicality there. He set up Ambrose over the briefcase for another Curb Stomp but Ambrose came back to fight off Rollins. He nailed the rebound lariat and drilled Rollins in the face with the briefcase for a CLOSE near fall.
Ambrose brought several cinderblocks into the ring and placed Rollins’ head across of the blocks. As he was going to put Rollins through it, the stream went black and the crowd reacted live, so something else happened as well. When the lights came back, a lantern was in the ring spewing smoke, with a hologram of sorts in the smoke. This allowed Bray Wyatt to attack Ambrose and hit him with Sister Abigail.
Rollins, confused as to what the hell is going on, covered Ambrose and scored the pin.
Your winner, Seth Rollins!
After the match, Wyatt nailed Sister Abigail on Ambrose again. We went off the air with Wyatt smiling over him.
What a fun match. The crowd was really into the early stuff on the top of the Cell and the work was really good. The Bray Wyatt stuff at the end seemed to take the breath out of the crowd, although you could hear some fans singing for Wyatt. As a way to interject Wyatt back into the top-tier, it was a good first step on paper, although I expect there will be some backlash to this sort of finish in a Cell bout.
WWE went right into the replay and isn't doing a Post-Show.

WWE NEWS: HIAC PPV Update - Pre-Show line-up & final card

For the pre-game show at Hell in a Cell on Sunday, WWE is advertising Miz TV and an appearance by Paul Heyman.

Heyman will be on the pre-show panel with Alex Riley and Booker T. Meanwhile, Miz will host Miz TV with guest Damien Sandow.

Ambrose opened the show with a promo. Rollins interrupted him on the tron and vowed to send Rollins straight to hell on Sunday.

1. Miz and Damien Sandow defeated El Matadores. Miz put one matador in the figure-four inside the ring and Mizdow put the other in one on the floor. Sheamus was on commentary.
Bo Dallas cut a promo backstage with Gold and Stardust about their match tonight. Goldust called Bo weird.

2. AJ Lee defeated Alicia Foxx. Paige was at ringside.

3. Dolph Ziggler defeated Cesaro. Ziggler won via pinfall.

4. Nikki Bella, Cameron, and Summer Rae defeated Brie Bella, Naomi, and Natalya. Nikki pinned Brie.

5. Bo Dallas, Gold and Stardust defeated Mark Henry and The Usos. Bo hit a Bodog on Henry and scored the win.

Cesaro challenged Ziggler backstage to a two-out-of-three falls match at Hell in a Cell.
Rollins cut a promo about Ambrose. He had tables and chairs set up in the ring. He said at HIAC any weapon is legal. Ambrose ran down to attack him. Rollins ran off while Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble tried to restrain him. Ambrose got the better of each and put Joey Mercury thru a table followed by Noble. Ambrose then posed on the announce table to end the show.

- The Card: Final Hell in a Cell PPV hype, John Cena & Dean Ambrose vs. The Authority in a handicap Street Fight, The Usos & Sheamus vs. The Miz & Rhodes Bros. in a six-man tag re-match from Smackdown, and Hulk Hogan advertised locally.

Raw opened with a shot of the Hell in a Cell structure hanging above the arena. Michael Cole introduced the show before Triple H's music played to bring out Hunter joined by Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, and Kane. No Stephanie McMahon. All four men were dressed in suits. Ties for Hunter and Kane, but open collars for Rollins and Orton. As The Authority slowly walked down to the ring, Cole hyped Raw in a hot city with the World Series starting tomorrow night in Kansas City.

In the ring, Hunter welcomed everyone to Raw. He said this is a Raw to be proud of because these three men - Rollins, Kane, and Orton - will compete in a handicap street fight against John Cena (mixed reaction) and Dean Ambrose (strong reaction). Lots of K.C. Royals blue in the crowd tonight.

Hunter said if Cena and Ambrose make it through tonight, they will advance to Hell in a Cell on Sunday. Hunter hyped the Cell, advertising unspeakable things inside this Cell on Sunday. And it's all live on WWE Network for $9.99. Why would people give the heels their money? Hunter then hyped his HIAC win/loss record, but said it's not his point. Because it's not the match you win, rather survive.

Hunter then hyped the double main event of Cena vs. Orton and Ambrose vs. Rollins on Sunday. Rollins spoke up next, but paused for "You Sold Out" chants. Rollins said he is Mr. Money in the Bank, but he would like to be called Undisputed Future WWE World Hvt. champion. Boos. Orton spoke up next that he is the Main Event of Hell in a Cell and vowed to beat Cena on Sunday. "I will end the decade-long rivalry once and for all," Orton said.

Hunter tried to calm down Rollins and Orton, noting it's a "double main event." But, which match goes on last? Hunter added a little something to Orton against Cena because the winner of the match will receive "an opportunity with WWE World Hvt. champion Brock Lesnar." Orton, from St. Louis, said unlike the Royals who haven't won a baseball title in 29 years, he will make Hunter proud by winning on Sunday and then become champion. The crowd picked up loud Royals chants, which drew a smile from Hunter as Orton seethed. Hunter said The Authority always wins, then Kane shot off his pyro to close the segment.

THE NEWS: Cena vs. Orton is a default #1 contender match for the WWE World Title at HIAC ... and that guy Brock Lesnar is still on the roster.

Last Tuesday on Main Event: Damien Sandow and The Miz mocked Sheamus, who dropped Sandow with a Brogue Kick.

In-ring: Sheamus's music played to bring out the U.S. champion for an opening six-man tag match. Lilian Garcia returned to Raw TV as the new ring announcer replacing Justin Roberts introducing Sheamus before Raw cut to break.

[Q2] [Commercial Break at 8:14]

Back from break, The Usos were introduced as Sheamus's tag partner. What did Sheamus do for the past four minutes? WWE wanted an inset promo from the Usos, but an inset promo from the Rhodes Bros. was cued up. WWE quickly cut to the Usos's inset promo. Out first for the heels were Goldust and Stardust, which brought up their inset promo talking about their title defense against the Usos on Sunday. Back to the arena, where Miz and Damien Sandow came out as the last participants in the tag match.

1 -- U.S. champion SHEAMUS & THE USOS vs. THE MIZ (w/Damien Sandow) & WWE tag champs GOLDUST & "STARDUST" CODY RHODES -- six-man tag match

Before the bell sounded, Miz dropped off the ring apron and told Sandow to get in the ring. "Really?" Sandow asked. Sandow hopped on the ring apron to get in the mix, then Miz joined the commentary team to discuss the "opportunity of a lifetime" he gave Sandow. The match quickly cut to another break after basic opening action.

Back from break, the heels were working on Uso. Sandow then tagged in and some of the crowd cheered, just as Miz was talking about Sandow not being more popular than he is. Sandow tried to execute Miz's moveset, but Uso blocked Sandow/Miz's charging corner clothesline. Exit Sandow, enter Stardust to maintain control for the heels.

[Q3] Hot tag to Sheamus as Sandow entered for the heels. Miz got hyped cheering on Sandow, who took punishment from Sheamus. The action broke down before the Usos started flying, then Cody did a springboard splash onto the Usos on the floor. Sheamus then came off the top with a splash to Sandow on the floor.

Back in the ring, Sheamus measured Sandow for a Brogue Kick, but Cody came flying in with a Disaster Kick attempt. Sheamus ducked, then smashed Cody with a Brogue Kick. But, Sandow rolled up Sheamus from behind for a quick three count. Miz flipped out in excitement on commentary, saying he won. Cole asked if Miz can do that himself on Sunday by knocking off Sheamus.

WINNERS: Team Miz/Sandow at 9:42. Basic six-man tag with the hot tag, high-flying, and chaotic finish setting up Sheamus in jeopardy of dropping the title on Sunday.

Authority Office: Orton wanted to talk to Hunter. Orton noted he's not easy to deal with, but he appreciates the opportunity on Sunday. He said when he beats Cena on Sunday, he will be the guy to beat Brock Lesnar, and then go to WrestleMania as WWE champ. Hunter said he doesn't doubt him, but this was Seth Rollins's idea. Hunter said he was looking out for him. Orton wasn't so sure, but said he'll thank him personally.

Suddenly, the Wyatt theme interrupted. It was a vignette for Bray Wyatt hyping his re-born henchmen, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. Bray also talked about a female individual (or figment of his imagination) guiding him on the path. Bray talked in tongues and an empty rocking chair rocked back and forth to close the vignette.

In-ring: From the Wyatts to Divas champion A.J. Lee. A.J. came out for Divas tag action on the other side of the break.

2 -- Divas champion A.J. LEE vs. ALICIA FOX (w/Paige) -- non-title match

Before the bell sounded, Cole hyped A.J. vs. Paige for the Divas Title on Sunday. WWE then replayed events from Friday's Smackdown leading into this singles match. Once the bell sounded, Fox started on the advantage and gloated about it. A kick to the head led to more gloating, then she executed an emphatic backbreaker for a close two count. More punishment, but Alicia took her eyes off A.J., allowing A.J. to respond with offense. Alicia and Paige then ran a distraction play on A.J., allowing Fox to get a surprise pin on A.J. Afterward, Paige and Fox gloated about the win while A.J. looked forward to Sunday.

WINNER: Fox at 4:16. Same deal as the opening match with the heel getting a one-up on the babyface champ heading into the PPV. Fox continues to impress when given a chance to shine.

Locker Room: Randy Orton approached Seth Rollins to discuss the whole WWE Title situation. Rollins made it clear that he plans to be WWE champion via his briefcase, whether on Lesnar ... or Orton. Orton was not too pleased by Rollins's bravado.

Post-Raw: Hulk Hogan "exclusive interview" on WWE Network.

In-ring: Randy Orton's music played just before the top of the hour to bring out Orton dressed in a suit. This time, Orton wanted to talk about John Cena by himself. He said it seems like just yesterday when both of them were making their WWE debuts in 2002. "Let's Go Royals" chant interrupted Orton, who responded that the Royals will not win. Ever. Never. Not in 100 years.

[Q5 -- second hour] Orton continued with a discussion about his history with Cena. He said he respects what he's accomplished, but Cena is still "that punk kid from Boston, Mass." who doesn't belong in the same ring with him. Orton told Cena to shove Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect up his ass. He said he's never cared about fighting for what is right (Hogan reference), then vowed to beat Cena on Sunday. "I'm telling you, John Cena, I will beat you and I will savor every second of it," he said. Orton vowed to go on to face The Beast ---

John Cena's music interrupted to bring out Orton's PPV opponent for the rebuttal. Cena posed with Royals fans in the crowd as JBL noted Orton's background being from St. Louis. Cena told Orton to shut up, then called Orton the "biggest dumbass alive" every time he speaks. Cena said Orton sounds like a grandpa peeing his pants talking about the past.

How stupid is Orton? He came to this city with everything going on right now - pause for Royals-related chants - and he told the people that the Royals have no shot at winning the title. 2002 he might have been right. That's also the last time Orton was relevant. But, now it's 2014 and the Royals are in the World Series. And they have their eyes square on the World Series Championship. Orton tried to interrupt by saying being there and winning it is completely different.

Cena said that's right, but Orton has no chance of winning their match on Sunday. Why? Because he's got his eyes on him. And if he beats him on Sunday, then he gets The Beast one more time.

Suddenly, Paul Heyman's voice interrupted. Heyman returned to TV reminding everyone of the Class of 2002 - John Cena, Randy Orton, and the next big thing, Brock Lesnar, who conquered The Rock for the WWE Title. So, if you think about it, the reigning, undisputed champion of 2002 is also the champ in 2014. Now, this Sunday, Cena and Orton are going to enter - pause to admire the Cell structure - the Cell.

Heyman said the winner of Cena vs. Orton is the ultimate loser because he has to face The Beast. Heyman stepped to Orton to tell him that he wants no part of his beast. And then there's Cena, who wants both Lesnar and the title. Suddenly, Cena hoisted Heyman in the air for an AA, but he put Heyman down as Orton paced in the background. Orton then spun Cena around and dropped him with an RKO. "Who's stupid now?!" Orton shouted down at Cena. Heyman laughed to himself and stood next to Orton, who who then surprised Heyman by dropping him with an RKO. Orton stood tall in the ring shouting toward the crowd as Cena and Heyman recovered in the ring.

[ JC's Reax: Major re-heat effort behind Orton the last two weeks trying to hype another round of Cena-Orton, but it's unfortunate a heel finally got in the physicality on Heyman that's been building for months and months. Can't get that moment back. ]

Backstage: Rusev and Lana were shown walking down the hallway. Rusev is in action next.

[Commercial Break at 9:13] [Q6...]

[...Q6] Moments Ago: John Cena opted not to give Paul Heyman an AA, so Orton dropped him, then Heyman with RKOs.

In-ring: Rusev was waving his Russian flag as Big E. prepared to face him in singles action. It's a re-match from Main Event.

3 -- RUSEV (w/Lana) vs. BIG E.

Big E. ran over Rusev early on, sending Rusev reeling to the floor. Big E. didn't wait for Rusev to get back in the ring, as he tried to follow up with offense on the floor. Back in the ring, Rusev and Big E. traded bombs until Rusev took control with kicks and stomps. Rusev then caught Big E. running the ropes with a big leg whip. This was turned into a two-segment match with Raw heading to break with Rusev in control.

[Commercial Break at 9:23]

Back from break, Rusev cut off a comeback attempt with a big kick to the face. Rusev went right into The Accolade in the middle of the ring. Quick shift to the finish out of the break, setting up an apparent post-match segment.

WINNER: Rusev via submission at 7:22.

Post-match, Lana spoke in the ring about Big Show failing Americans this Sunday. Rusev said Show belongs in a circus wallowing in his own excrement. Rusev vowed to rip out Show's heart and devour it. He said Show will fail his country and the people will despise him for it. Lana spoke next to honor the "true red, white, and blue," which produced the Russian flag. Except there was no flag, just the Cell structure.

On the video screen, Big Show smiled a big smile. Suddenly, the American flag dropped and patriotic music played. Rusev and Lana flipped out, then Rusev approached the American flag and teased pulling down the flag, but a person dressed in Army gear hit the ring looking like a fan hopping the rail. Security hit the ring, then Rusev smashed the man with a boot to the face. Rusev left the ring, then security checked on the man, who sold a head injury. Cameras stayed on the individual, making it seem like an angle. The crowd didn't know how to handle it, the announcers remained silent, and Raw cut to break.

[Q7] [Commercial Break at 9:30]

Moments Ago: Rusev wanted to yank down an American flag, but a man dressed in military gear hit the ring. He promptly took a kick to the head, then Big Show came down to ringside to help the man away from ringside during the break.

Back live, Show was in the ring looking quite upset and emotional. Show stared into the crowd as WWE zoomed in tight on Show's eyes. Show couldn't find the words, then stomped the mat. He said you do not disrespect an American solider. Ever. "Rusev," he continued before pausing to collect himself. "You want my attention. You want to get inside my head. Young man, my head is a very dark place to be." Show vowed to unleash his wrath on Rusev.

"I am an American. I am a giant," he said. Show vowed to end Rusev's 15 minutes of fame at Hell in a Cell on Sunday. Show threw down the mic, but decided he wasn't done. He called down Rusev to come fight him now. No sign of Rusev, so Show left the ring to find Rusev backstage.

WWE cut backstage to show Show approaching Rusev's locker room. Inside were his suits and gear, but no sign of Rusev. Show then left the locker room.

[ JC's Reax: Major desperation to sell the PPV (and Network subs) using a fake military rep to set up Big Show's big ra-ra speech promo. ]

Somewhere: Dean Ambrose was watching Kane's latest movie to scout for the main event. In walked John Cena to question his scouting tactics. Ambrose said they're like Batman and Superman with different tactics of going about justice. Ambrose and Cena agreed to disagree, then vowed to save it for the ring when they team up in the main event.

[Q8] [Commercial Break at 9:44]

Announcement: Top heel authority figure has been selected for an Eisenhower Fellowship. Announced in the context of the show, it sure makes the organization seem like terrible people for selecting a heel for their program.

4 -- SUMMER RAE vs. BRIE BELLA

Immediately back from break, the bell sounded for a pre-Halftime Divas match to hype Brie vs. Nikki at the PPV. On cue, they showed Nikki standing backstage watching the match on a monitor. Summer controlled early on, but Brie responded with the X Factor for the pin and the win. Backstage, Nikki sold anger over her sister one-upping her before their PPV match. Brie did the Daniel Bryan "Yes!" chants, prompting a Bryan reference from Cole heading to break.

WINNER: Brie at 3:42.

Backstage: Dean Ambrose was shown carrying bags down the hallway for a top-of-the-hour Halftime segment.

[Commercial Break at 9:52]

In-ring: Dean Ambrose came to the ring just before the top of the hour with his bags full of props. Prop #1 was a Seth Rollins mannequin. Ambrose removed the mannequin's arm and slapped "Rollins" in the face with it. Ambrose then screwed the mannequin's mouth with a screwdrier and hammered the mannequin's face. He then pulled out a saw to cut off his testicles, but he remembered Rollins sold his to The Authority months before.

[Q9 -- third hour] Ambrose pulled out tongs and squeezed the dummy's crotchal area as the announcers cracked jokes to make the bit less cool. Ambrose then piledrove the mannequin and stood over his work. Seth Rollins's music interrupted to bring out Rollins flanked by Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury in suits. Cue up more dummy jokes from the announcers. Ambrose threw the arm of the mannequin toward Rollins, who ignored it.

Rollins started walking down to the ring, noting he grew up in the Midwest like the audience. He said unlike all of them, though, he was destined to be more than some pathetic Midwestern piece of trailer park trash. The crowd didn't take the bait on the cheap heat. Rollins said they will never have any idea what it's like to be him. He then called out fans for taking pictures and videos of him because they know he's the best part of Raw every week.

Rollins went on to talk about Hell in a Cell, then Mick Foley's music suddenly interrupted for this week's Halftime show act. Foley hit the ring and took a mic standing next to Ambrose. Foley said he came by to visit an old friend (the HIAC Cell). Foley told a story about December 2012 when his kids raved about The Shield. And they were right about Shield dominating. But, as great as they were as a cohesive unit, he visualized the day when Rollins and Ambrose would go face-to-face. And he almost always pictured Rollins coming out on top. Rollins said he's thankful Foley still has a few good thoughts left in his half-working brain. Foley told him he missed the "almost" in the sentence. Because on Sunday, it's Hell in a Cell.

Foley went back in time to 18 years ago when he fell off the top of the Cell and now wears Santa Claus outfits to remember the shreds of innocence left in him. Ambrose spoke up that he lost his innocence years ago and no one else in this company understands him, except for maybe Foley. Ambrose said Rollins is going to wake up in a hospital bed on Monday morning asking himself if it was all worth it at Hell in a Cell. Rollins said Ambrose is out of his mind, but he will beat him just like he's been beating him all along the way.

Foley interrupted and swung the conversation back to himself going off the top of the Cell. Foley said he breaks up his life into pre-Cell and post-Cell segments. He wasn't the same afterward. See, just like the people here in Kansas City, they get the game they've been waiting 29 years for tomorrow. And, six days from now, Ambrose and Rollins get the match they've been waiting their entire lives for. "Have a nice day," he closed. As Foley's music played, Ambrose tried to hit Rollins with a chair, but Rollins got away. Ambrose chucked the mannequin toward Rollins, Mercury, and Noble as the trio walked away from ringside.

5 -- IC champion DOLPH ZIGGLER vs. CESARO -- non-title match

The bell sounded back from break to begin the post-Halftime match. JBL noted the death of Ox Baker as Ziggler and Cesaro felt each other out in the ring. Cesaro rocked Ziggler with a forearm, but took too much time gloating, allowing Ziggler to nail a dropkick in response. Cesaro won the next exchange dropping Ziggler across the top rope. Ziggler sold the effects heading to break.

[Commercial Break at 10:23]

Back from break, Cesaro was still in control of the action. Cesaro wanted a top-rope move, but it was ill-advised, as Ziggler intercepted with a snap dropkick to the mush. Ziggler then fired off a round of offense to rock Cesaro for a two count.

[Q11] Reset at 9:00 with Ziggler and Cesaro blocking each other's moves. Cesaro then smashed Ziggler with a big European Uppercut. It KO'ed Ziggler for the pin and the win, putting Cesaro in line for an IC Title shot down the line.

Post-match, Cesaro wasn't done. Cesaro wanted the Neutralizer to put an exclamation point on his win, and he delivered it mid-ring. Cue the siren for Cesaro to leave with the win and insult to injury.

WINNER: Cesaro at 9:30. Solid match; will a title re-match be added to the PPV? Also, it worth drawing attention to Ziggler losing again? It's almost expected, especially if he's holding a title.

Authority's Office: Rollins and Orton were arguing. Triple H walked in to make Kane the general out there in the ring. But, Rollins and Orton didn't want to hear it. So, Kane screamed at them to put aside their differences and work together to take out Cena and Ambrose before Hell in a Cell. General Kane got the troops quieted down to Hunter's approval to end the segment.

Suddenly, the Wyatts theme interrupted. Their vignette played again with Bray talking about rebuilding Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. And Bray's desolation coming.

In-ring: John Cena's music played first for the TV main event. After Cena came out, Dean Ambrose joined him looking for a fight. The faces prepared for their fight as Raw headed to break.

Backstage: Hulk Hogan was shown standing backstage talking to a wide-eyed Renee Young about topics to be saved for WWE Network after Raw.

In-ring: Kane and Randy Orton were out first for the heel trio. Seth Rollins then joined them on the stage for a united march down to the ring to square off against the babyface duo.

6 -- JOHN CENA & DEAN AMBROSE vs. THE AUTHORITY (RANDY ORTON & SETH ROLLINS & KANE) -- handicap Street Fight

Ambrose got his hands on Rollins early on to preview their PPV match. Meanwhile, the crowd picked up a ritualistic "Let's Go Cena / Cena Sucks" chant while Cena waited on the ring apron. Ambrose then took the fight to the outside, where bodies were splattered across the floor by Ambrose's wild antics.

Ambrose then went under the ring to retrieve a table, but Kane cut him off with a blast onto the table. Kane bounced Cena off the table, too, heading to break.

Back from break, Rollins was working on Ambrose mid-ring. The heels continued to work on Ambrose per General Kane's orders heading to the top of the hour.

[Q13 -- over-run] Ambrose fought back against Orton, then finally got a hot tag to Cena. Chaos broke out with weapons becoming involved. Rollins then got the best of Cena with a facebuster back in the ring, but Cena kicked out of a pin.

Back to the floor, where Kane sent Cena hard into the announce table, then into the ring steps. Everyone returned to the ring, then the Cell was suddenly lowered down to the ring. Ambrose took advantage by smashing Rollins into a Cell wall before smashing Orton with his rebound clothesline off the ropes. Ambrose then bashed Orton with Kendo Stick shots into a side Russian Legsweep using the stick.

Ambrose grabbed a chair and brought it into the ring, where he smashed it into Orton coming off the second rope. Ambrose then popped Kane with a chair shot to the back before back-dropping Kane onto Orton. Ambrose saved a suicide dive onto Rollins for last. Back in the ring, more chaos until Orton dropped Ambrose with an RKO in the middle of the ring. Orton covered Ambrose for the pin and the win.

WINNERS: Team Authority at 18:30. Chaotic main event attempting to give a taste of the PPV on Sunday. The problem is they gave away one of the key selling points of the PPV - Ambrose getting his hands on Rollins - in the opening seconds of this match. They spent the better part of three weeks stressing whether Ambrose or Cena would get his hands on Rollins and then gave it away right here in the main event to the point where it wasn't even a big deal that Ambrose was working on Rollins with some rudimentary wrestling offense in the opening seconds. The lack of attention to detail, over-exposure of top stars, and repetitive matches is really hurting the booking in the three-hour era.

Post-match: Rollins suddenly dropped Orton with a Curb Stomp in the middle of the ring. The announcers were stunned by Rollins taking out his stablemate. "I call the shots around here!" Rollins declared. Rollins then left the cage and celebrated on top of the Cell to close Raw 11 minutes past the top of the hour.
