WWE Smackdown TV report - Final show before the Rumble

JBL tried to put over the idea there was a hug-a-thon worldwide when the thing actually was a dismal flop live. Kane & Bryan said that they have not gone soft and said they will prove it at the PPV. After they beat Team Rhodes Scholars, Kane said he was going to throw 29 other superstars over and go to WrestleMania. Kane said he’s been in 13 Rumbles, the most ever, and in one match I eliminated 11 superstars, the most ever. Bryan noted that Kane has never won a Rumble match. Bryan said he was going to win. They both argued over who was going to win the Royal Rumble match.

Big Show then came out. Show said nobody cares about your plans, you’ve each got a 1 in 30 chance of winning the Rumble. Show said he had a 100% chance of beating Alberto Del Rio. He warned them to not challenge him for the title. Bryan asked why, noting he beat Show for the title. If told them if they don’t get out of his ring, he’ll squish both of them. Kane said they are not a couple of bugs and they are not going anywhere.

Damien Sandow & Cody Rhodes were out next. Sandow said they should be more concerned about the tag team title match, just as Goliath underestimated David, you are underestimating Team Rhodes Scholars. And our destruction of you will be of Biblical proportions. Rhodes said that they were going to win the titles. Sandow proposed an alliance, by this time next week the three of us will all be champions so why don’t we all just decimate Team Hell No.

Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez were in next. They said nothing.

Booker T was in next. He announced the six of them in the main event tonight. It will be an elimination match. So can you dig that, suckas?

Rhodes and Sandow left. Show tried to attack Del Rio but Del Rio moved and Del Rio blew him a kiss and Show bailed.

Sheamus beat Wade Barrett with the Brogue kick.

Natalya beat Rosa Mendes.  Mendes was dancing and then Hornswoggle jumped on the announcers table and started dancing.  Mendes was mad, was distracted and Natalya went for a schoolgirl, but then turned it into a sharpshooter for the submission.  Khali, Hornswoggle, Primo and Epico were all at ringside during the match.  Match was pretty bad.

C.M. Punk and Paul Heyman came out. Punk said he can’t sleep at night because he’s afraid of my own potential. Said he’s going to break The Rock. But because of The Shield, and a letter handed down he could lose the title.  Paul Heyman had a letter that said if The Shield gets involved, Punk would be officially stripped of the championship. Because of this, Vince McMahon may take from me what no man was able to physically do, Vincent K. McMahon wants to steal the title. Called out The Shield. He said he knows they’re in their clubhouse hanging out. Wait a minute, that’s the heel group in TNA. The Shield came out through the crowd. Punk told them he never asked them to attack Rock or Ryback, and never asked them for anything. He told them to stay out of his way. There would no greater injustice in the history of WWE than my historic title reign ending because of your interference. Said this will be the biggest win of my career and I’m going to do it by myself. I don’t need your help becuase I’m the best in the world. They all left. He said he’s the geatest of all-time.

Rock came out. He said Punk was going to panic, crack, and then said, "I’m going to hook you in the rock bottom." Rock did his catch phrase and left the ring.

Randy Orton beat Drew McIntyre via DQ when Jinder Mahal interfered in about one minute.   Orton ended up giving Mahal, Heath Slater and McIntyre RKO's after the match.

Alberto Del Rio & Kane & Daniel Bryan vs. Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow & Big Show in an elimination match

a) Kane pinned Sandow with a choke slam.
b) Kane and Show were mistiming their spots.  Show used the knockout punch on Kane outside hte ring and threw him into the post. Kane was counted out of the ring.
c) Bryan did a skin the cut into a knockout punch.  He fell out of the ring and was counted out.
d) Del Rio was left with Show and Rhodes.  Show choke slammed him. He rolled out of the ring. Teased the count out but Del Rio got back in.  Del Rio superkicked Show and he was counted out of the ring.
e) Del Rio pinned Rhodes with a step up enzuigiri.

Show speared Del Rio after the match. He dragged Del Rio out of the ring and put him behind the announcers table.  Show nailed him with the knockouit punch.  Show tipped over the table onto Del Rio. Show counted to ten to signifiy Del Rio couldn’t get up by ten. He then announced himself as the new world champion.  Then he counted to ten in Spanish. He mispronounced a few of those numbers but it’s not his primary language.
